The big piece is called the Hull of the tank and the small wheels at the top of the track are called tensioners. The bits on the side of hull are suspension housings and struts for what will be the road wheels. The tracks and all the parts related them such as wheels, and suspension is colloquially known as the running gear.

Go buy a Heng long or Torro kit on Ebay for fraction of cost and all budgets. Firing guns, Smoke and tracks won't bust on a bump. ;)

Wayne as it nearing that time of year there is an advent calendar company that might appeal to you. They are made by a company called Franzis and do 1:43 and 1:24 scale models in advent calendar form with a base and sound could be something for the winter to do.

Here is a joke for you... During WW2 a new private is in a trench on the battlefield, his commanding officer hands him a plank of wood. He tells the private that, "There is a shortage of rifles so just use this plank of wood. When you see an enemy point the plank at the enemy, yell, "BANG", and the enemy will die". Thinking it's just a joke, the private looks over the trench and sees an enemy, points the plank of wood and yells "BANG". Just like his commanding officer told him, the enemy soldier fell over and died. He did this a few times and it worked all the time. So the private climbed over the trench and ran over the battlefield yelling, "BANG", killing dozens of enemy soldiers. But then he came up to a enemy soldier and yelled, "BANG", over and over and nothing happened. The enemy soldier talked over the top of him and just as he was been crushed to death he heard, "TANK, TANK, TANK". :P

Hey Wayne, you *may* want to have another look at the engine intakes (the screens) to ensure that the camo patterns match the rest of the hull. From the glimpse I got, they appeared reversed.

Another great video Wayne… it’s a great looking tank.. have had an interest in such beasts since I was 8 years old (1966) and visited Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset .. a lot different from todays museum … when my son was 10 .. got him a Heng Long r/c 1-16 Tiger tank that had bb firing gun & realistic smoke 💨 out of the exhausts .. I also was given a great birthday present .. a driving experience down near Winchester where I got to drive a Chieftain Main Battle Tank (where wife & kids rode in top of turret) ; an Armoured Personnel Carrier; an Abbot Self Propelled Gun and a Quad Bike .. weather was a bit iffy .. got plastered in mud .. but what a great day out! I would love a large scale Challenger 2 or Chieftain R/C tank .. but don’t have the space or funds sadly.

Hi Wayne thanks again for a great video. I already have a Tamiya 1/16 RC Leopard 2A6 that I built and painted, so I don’t think I will be getting this build. I have spent over AUD$2000 including upgrades on this build. This tank however is one of my favourites, and I do like it more than the Tamiya 1/16 RC M1A2 ABRAMS I built over 2 years ago. I will keep watching with interest just to see what I might include on my Tamiya Leopard.

It is pretty disappointing that they used so much plastic, especially for the hull and suspension. I mean this model is extremely pricey and I would have actually expected more. You can get build up RC Leopard 2A6 tanks form Torro or Heng Long with metal hull, suspension and wheels by less than half the price. I was really considering to buy this model but now I'm not sure if it is worth the money. Anyway, great video like always. I'm looking forward to see more videos soon.

You got it! I bought the metal hull for the Heng Long Leo2A6 from Torro two weeks ago. Better then metal is more metal. The plastic hull wheels and suspension is to less weight, if you want to drive in rough terain and it should look great.

Hi Wayne, quick question for you and group...... Ecto seems to be best what I call “Bang for the Buck” in terms of Size, Complexity, Recognition, Supplier Customer Service and Moveable Features all weighed against my Out of Pocket Cost. That’s my opinion, others can chime in of course! Not taking into to account personal preference eg: firemen will like the NYPD Truck for obvious reasons. Wondering if it would be cool for a group weighing on the models currently available from all manufacturers. Maybe an ongoing tally? Might help to pick out your next model, and important for first timers maybe? Just a thought....

I don’t know if you noticed, but one of the capacitors of the control board seems to have not been soldered on properly. It’s bent off of it’s connection and not sure if the board would function with it like that.

Looking at how the tracks and suspension works. you go over a bump or it drops and you will snap the wheels off as no moving or spring suspension. Shocked they did not consider making suspension that works. Why in vids i seen of it only on flat ground.

@@tumbleweed1970able For over £1000 you would expect it be all metal hull and full suspension , smoke and a bb firing gun. Why i looked at king tiger as well and was like nope way too much for a toy and just buy Heng long or Torro RC tank on ebay built by pros and looks amazing.

The Agora website claims each wheel has independent suspension. But it is still pretty disappointing that the hull, wheels and suspension seems to be made out of plastic. The model is way to expensive to be just a plastic toy.

@@This_Frank Even if it does have independent suspension, i reckon it will still have problems i said as they only show it on flat and level ground. Also the lower hull plastic, should have been metal. It a very expensive plastic toy. Like i said rather get a Heng long or another brand that makes great RC tank models that do more, sturdier and most of all cost way less and already build and painted to an amazing standard.

Their's been quite afew monthly subscribers having problems of their nxt ltta monthly parts. But at the end of the day we knew somthing like this was gnna happen due to supply issues from the manufacturer. 1:8 Ecto-1 will be finished but it's just gnna take abit longer is all
