Sensational demo and how to DIY tones on the GX-100. Best demo and simple how to I have seen on the internet. You managed to make it look so easy to build tones. I went out and bought one of these and am loving it. Even managed a guitar/organ tone for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds with the Overtone, Phaser and Reverb effects.

This is hands down the best tone building video I have "seen" so far. Clean, simple and and shows the work flow really well. I am legally blind and with the Limited vision I have left color and things extremely zoom extremely zoom in are are visible. I think the boss GX 100 with with its simple UI and touch screen as well as the phthe familiar color We'll be the 1st Modeling pedal I Will use since I have lost my sight. Thank you for producing such such a fantastic video. I appreciate you appreciate you so much.

Absolutely love mine. Had it at least a month if not more. Once you get into the menus and deeper in it is a very powerful unit. If I have any criticism there is not an option to make it a bit more analog. You can with a bit of tinkering but the sound is very clean and clinical. Sounds great, I love it but if you are wanting old school analog "warm" it is there but you need to do a fair bit of tweaking.

To get a more analog sound try a Parametric EQ with a Hi Cut at 5Khz or 6.3Khz (depending on which sounds better to you) and a Low Cut at 100Hz. The reason digital modelers sound "artificial" is because guitar speakers naturally start to roll off at about 5Khz whereas modelers give you all the frequencies by default due to being digital. Anything below 100Hz is not needed on guitar (generally speaking) as that's getting into bass frequencies.

Great tutorial! How do I get the empty chain to display? Not sure why I can't start a preset from scratch.

Just delete all efects and you have blank patch

And save it as an empty patch so that you can use it everytime

Thnxs for the video Tyler. Great job. But without deep knowledge about all the parameters you are lost in space.

Just what the Doctor ordered, thanks! Presume you were running this into an audio interface? Could you share which one. Or was it via USB.

Hi Ti.... first, thanks a lot for your videos ! I'd like a little help : I cover Deep Purple's HIGHWAY STAR with my band. I'm trying to find a way to get the right harmonization for the (2nd solo), but there's always a wrong note : it's important to notice that we play detuned (Eb Ab,...etc); so instead of G we play it Gb ....can you help me find the solution ? Thanks a lot

Bummer , excellent instruction, but if this is the Blues sound I'm going to get out of the GX100 I ordered, it may not even make it out of the box. 2:40 ackkk!! The top blues players did not use this horrid little distortion sound. Boss, Line6 etc, still haven't figured out how to make a processor that gets clean, fat bell-tones that SRV Hendrix Albert Collins and a dozen of the other great blues players were getting, but they tell us we can get any tones we want out of these processors. 🤔😄😢

Drive sound Seems more "Digital" and less "amp like" on My ears respect of othet stuff (helix, headrush).. . What's your experience?
@Nightbreed82 Жыл бұрын
I have compared my GX-100 to my Helix Native plugin and the GX-100 sounds much more amp-like to me. There are some propritary Line 6 effects that I love to play around with, but as far as "meat and potatoes" tones, the GX-100 really shines. There are many parameters that matter in getting the most natural tone possible.

Pros: Easy to use, touch screen, decent sounds. Cons: need to demo a lot more clean sounds. All gained sounds were noisy!!!

Sounds lifeless and “hollow” Most people would ever only need stacked OD’s, reverb, delay, chorus and a tuner….at most I have an old VOX tonelabLE that sounds way better. I would expect sound emulation would have improved in the last 12 years

I have the Tonelab and the Gx100. The Gx100 has replaced everything I did with the Tonelab. Don't get me wrong but the Tonelab is still amazing but the GX100, once you get deep into it is superb. I'd describe it as hardest to get a warmer analog sound to it but it is there and do able. As for stacking. I love the fact you can just experiment with effects in any order or shove 5 different Reverbs with 4 different delays.

I had the Vox Tonelab Desktop and SE floorboard unit for many years, and I loved them at the time. They were my go-to multi-effects units from 2002 to 2015. I've owned a GX-100 for almost a year now and can tell you it absolutely SMOKES the Tonelabs in every way.

None of the pros yes these .so only the bedroom guys. And yet they just keep getting harder and harder to operate. And still nothing to a valve amp .maybe another 10 years
Not overly impressed. I was prepared to be "blown away", but, meh. To me the tones all sounded harsh and unpleasant, which seems to be a thing with BOSS' AIRD tech. To my ears, my Gen 1 Katana sounds better, and there's absolutely no comparison to my Bugera 333XL as far as pure tone is concerned. For desktop recording I think you can't go wrong with the various Fortin plugins, but each to their own.
