Building a better SR20DET Pt. 1

Had some fun with Big Boost and got the short block and some more bay work done. Wanted to get the engine fully assembled, but ran into a little speed bump. Let's get it running tomorrow! LZMFG.com

You should do some research into the ownership of the abandoned development where you sometimes drift at. You might be able to buy it and make your own drift track for unlimited drifting.

kmbbmeee I doubt it, that land is for a planned neighborhood that was going to be built and then abandoned by the contractor. It has already been passed for planning permission of nearly 100 homes, which makes that land extremely valuable and way out of Adams price range, even if he and a bunch of friends chipped in towards buying it.

I have heard, not confirmed, that is was abandoned by the builder because it is in a flood plain. Land might be cheaper than you think.

MX304 if it is in a flood plain it would be pretty cheap since it cant really be used for any kimd of building (it think its called the compound)

Adam doesn't want his bay as tucked as Jimmy's because Adam regularly needs to access his fuses and stuff so having them in the fender wouldn't be ideal.

Shaving any motorsport bay like that isn't a good idea. Simplifying and proper mounting done cleanly so access and repair is what's needed in motorsports. Custom work and show cars yes shave away

Make sure you use break in oil with high zinc and fight TJ💪💪💪💪😎

michaelc51388 should be using non detergent/additive oil for break in. Then switch to high zinc oil from that point on. Always run high zinc in an sr20.

Adam heat shrink is usually used to cover a splice or tighten the loom ends and then you use loom to cover it like you were.

Those sleeves you got to hold the wiring harness in are called nut holders. They have a nut inside and hold stuff.

I really enjoy the sound of the external gate on my sr20 and im sure you will as well. You should route the dump out of the fender or hood instead of just routing it underneath the car.

Good point, I’ve seen a couple sr20’s done this way and they usually sound really good. Just make sure not to do any sharp bends as it can make it sound crazy, I’ve seen one end up sounding like a train horn when the gate opens.

I hope you guys checked the gap on the piston rings. Cause that's was probably the reason the pistons broke. They need more room to expand than stock because how hard you push it drifting. It's just something that I learned from in the past.
