What is the meaning of MTP? From examples it looks like USP : Unique selling proposition?
@OpenExO
@OpenExO 10 ай бұрын
An MTP is a Massive Transformative Purpose. It is most definitely not a USP, an MTP has nothing to do with what or how your organization does. Here is the definition from Exponential Organizations 2.0. A Massive Transformative Purpose reflects an organization’s highest aspiration: the core, defining purpose of its existence. An MTP describes the change in the world that you want to achieve, the fundamental problem you are trying to solve, while recognizing that that change will not be accomplished, the problem solved, in the short term. The MTP is designed to inspire focused action, express your passions, and create an emotional connection that drives you and others toward meaningful, positive, and common change. By definition, an MTP is likely never fully realizable. For example, Google’s MTP is to “Organize the world’s information.” Google will never fully organize all the world’s information-but that MTP still will remain its goal.

@OpenExO usually these type of talks are in a discussion format with presenters talking to each other and or audience. In this presentation, the presenters are talking directly to the camera, the talk feels too scripted, and the room setting sceams commercial. However maybe u guys wanted the vibe of a commercial, in that case, a job well done.
@OpenExO
@OpenExO 9 ай бұрын
@@no_good_reason_to_bother We can assure you that this was definitely not scripted, it was planned but no one was readying from a teleprompter. We did think about adding a live audience but opted for just the online audience. We can understand where you are coming from though in terms of the setting feeling like a commercial, that was not the aim the aim is for the video to pass on knowledge that hopefully people will use to Transform the World for a Better Future!

Awesome talk, thanks so much! The only problem I see is using Uber/Lyft as an example. It’s fine for part time work but to try to use these platforms as a full time job is not sustainable for the driver. Your vehicle is destroyed very quickly, I’ve been driving with Lyft for 6 years. The underlying platform and idea is great, the abundance goes to the company though.

Not sure I understand the used car example as the used car company IS the middleman.
@OpenExO
@OpenExO 9 ай бұрын
Guazi is a platform that leverages AI and Machine Learning to remove the friction of selling a car and to streamline the process. They Leverage Staff on Demand to assess the cars, have built a community of people that share their service, the assets they are selling they never need to technically own and so so they have increased flexibility and they have gamified their platform. Internally their interface does the majority of the work. An exponential Organization is not one that gets rid of the middleman per se. I hope that this has been helpful but we are happy to answer more questions. You can head over to openexo.com and join our community for access to learning, tools and a global community of Exponential thinkers and doers!

These two clearly didn't try to launch a startup in Canada - especially Ontario -, where lawyers and accountants are the first in line to be asked what's what. The so-called ''disruption'' based start-up doesn't work in Canada because of the over-regulation and strict laws (for example you can't hire and fire at will, the most important element on building a start-up team, at least in the beginning..). The reason why Salim is in US (and not in Canada, albeit he is Canadian too).

@@OpenExO Really? Apart of Shopify (Ottawa based and founded) can you provide some commercially viable successes examples or you just throwed in some number of startups that got funded and never got anywhere? As I know most of them. Especially based in Ontario, BC and QC.
@OpenExO
@OpenExO 9 ай бұрын
@@morcap Yes really 😊. If you believe that it is impossible to start a disruptive organization in Canada then you are most likely not going to start a disruptive organization, simple as that. With a mindset that says, I can do anything and I will do what ever it takes to make my MTP a reality, you are more likely to make this happen. Our aim is to give people tools and a community to foster this.
@morcap
@morcap 9 ай бұрын
@@OpenExO Oh I know I can "start a disruptive" system - Fintech heard of it!? - was [initially] developed in Canada", the country with the very first and the many crowdfunding and p2p Fintech (now re-labeled DeFi). But none of them succeeded on a global scale - hence the ExOs.. - as they were all one by one crushed by regulation and 'broad strokes' legal. Reality is a company can and some do start in Canada but they need to move South pretty fast if they wanna have any chance to succeed. Every single example with mild success follow this pattern.

Uber is terrible for the labor. They earn less than minimum wage, when you account for everything. Think about the flip side, if they earned well, then Uber ought to hire the labor and capture the profit. Same applies to Amazon and opening FBA shops. Amazon has all the data to make the best FBA shops, and could hire people for cheap to do that if there was a good opportunity there.

@weksauce
@weksauce 8 ай бұрын
@@stacknsat That's not evidence that it's better roi to build a software company. That's evidence that it's better roi to build a monopoly. Monopoly platform creators are billionaires, but it's not a replicable strategem. Most software companies suck, just like most restaurants suck, just like most electricians' LLCs suck. Competition is brutal. Monopoly is nice for the monopolists, but harmful to everyone else. It's largely the job of (good) government to build infrastructure, by taxing the wealthy companies and individuals who benefit the most from the whole economy. Government bureaucrats "built" most of the important infrastructure. It doesn't matter who they are, but it matters very much that they exist, and that we don't let regulatory capture happen, and that we don't believe lies/myths of "self-made" monopolists. Zuck and Sergey/Larry didn't build much of their wealth. Most of their wealth was gained by extracting monopoly rents.

Which is why taxi firms in every city fall to Uber… not just the platform… but the fact many of these drivers are willing to work for less than minimum wage. Existing taxi drivers won’t match price because there established within their local area and have a lifestyle they’ve become accustomed to to maintain… my just arrived refugee Uber driver or kid out of school earning some extra pocket money does not. One is trying to make a living whereas the other is trying to survive / make some side money. Taxi drivers shouldn’t be paid much though - they have no unique skill and are easily replaced.
