I really wanna see yall take the 4 Rotor to a wind tunnel. Super interested to see what your aero is actually doing and how much downforce it's actually making at speed
@iceman5117
@iceman5117 Жыл бұрын
The wing is just bolted into the trunk lid, so less than 100lbs unless you think you can sit on it. Front even less since it just goes into plastic with screws
@andreworth8493
@andreworth8493 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd like to see the coefficient of drag in a wind tunnel, but I don't think there will be much downforce at this point. In order to really achieve downforce of any type, he would need to have a chassis mounted rear wing and a chassis mounted front splitter. On the other hand, it is really good that he built a flat underbody, because that definitely helps. Still though, my guess is that it's still actually producing lift at this point
@pieflies

@@iceman5117 unless they changed it more recently, the front splitter is attached to the chassis, not the bumper.
@Doomburger7

@@andreworth8493 almost as importantly, the engine bay isn't vented or properly ducted and there's no firewall. All of the air entering through the grill is just becoming super turbulent and producing lift, pressure, and drag. I've been frustrated by this for a long time lol.

Reposting my comment from some time ago: if you put speed sensors on the diff side of the drive shafts and also have the abs sensors, you could measure if there is a rpm difference over any driveshaft itself, meaning you could have a driveshaft warning system.

I'm really curious about the heat soak of the wet clutches in the Attesa transfer case when running at these power levels and slipping the rear. If I understand it right, the only way to have a different speed front to rear is if the Attesa transfer case clutches are slipping, which means there must be a crap tonne of heat (torque * front/rear rpm difference * time) being dumped into the Attesa clutch pack. Is there an oil cooler for the transfer case/transmission? I'd love to nerd out on any data on this. Actually, I am sure it's not this simple.. help anyone?

One remark: Please please please make sure that you,re going to eventually mount the rear wing THROUGH the boot and onto the frame. A friend of mine fitted a similarly large spoiler to his far less powerful LS powered BMW 3 series and the wing started warping the boot at speeds over 70. He's convinced higher speeds would,ve ripped it off.
