Finally! A bushcrafter who doesn't cut down the biggest logs he can carry to build a temporary shelter. Bravo! And it's architecturally interesting, too! The inhabitants of Cahokia mostly used smaller trees, about wrist thick, to build their houses' walls, and thinner more flexible ones for roofs and rounded huts. With proper daub and chinking, they were adequately wind and weather proof. I'm glad someone else noticed.

I just made an A-frame with a homemade fireplace in the woods. Also😄 I had a piece of 1x6 sheet metal that I put up in the front at the top inside the fireplace. The piece of metal seemed to block the backflow of smoke into the cabin. I still have to go back and fill some gaps in the fireplace with clay👍🌈

Outstanding build, I like the way everything is just being held in by a a loosely tied framework where gravity sorta keeps everything in place. The arched window yet again providing that sublet elegance and definition of style. This is definitely the kind of cottage I would love to bring my grandchildren to and tell them the story of the magical wood nymph who lived there and was the steward of the land. Can't wait to see what you do next with the place. I sure hope to see you continue to improve this project!

Suggestion: place narrow - elongated stones on the left and right of your stone oven. So that you can then put a wire rack over it. Put your kettle on top and the pans have a secure stand too. Great job. I'm looking forward to your next video. Stay healthy.

I am so enjoying this build. The videos are so peaceful and this shelter in particular conveys your remarkable ability to create a sense of home wherever you settle. Even your simplest shelters seem cozy. This is on another level! It doesn't just offer shelter... it's beautiful and practical and welcoming. Thanks for sharing. I have to admit... I waved back. I know, I know. It's instinctive. I also say "Your welcome" to automated check out machines when they say "Thank you for shopping a TESCO". Every time I'm determined not to but it's out of my mouth before I realise. I try to reason with spiders that get in my way when I'm working. I know explaining health & safety to a spider is pointless but I do it all the same. So, if I had one request, it would be please keep the waving to an absolute minimum. My wife thinks I'm going mad as it is. Waving at my laptop does little to quell that suspicion.

I started watching the videos from newest to oldest and now an update, yay! It amazes me how much have you level up your gear bc its pretty expensive and many are gifs wow!
