Before this video I had no knowledge on India business culture. After watching I have a better understanding and see their success and how they operate.

In comparison to American Business Culture, Indian Business Culture seems much more laid back and respectful. Rather than outright denying an offer, it is preferred to say something like, "I'll see what I can do." Or not expecting someone to be punctual to meetings. While being very strange to me, I can appreciate the differences between cultures in different countries. Great video!

Indian business has held the number one IT spot, the 7th largest country, and the 5th largest economy. I find it really cool that when receiving a business card you have to grab it. With two hands and not one.

I have heard some things about India but this video really expands my knowledge of the country. It was interesting to learn that they had fulfilled over 50% of the global demand for vaccines in 2019. I did not know that they had the capacity to do this and makes me wonder what other things India provides for the World.

India is one of the most powerful and influential countries in the world. Although their culture is very different from the United States, it makes it even more important that we understand these differences so we can work together from a business standpoint.

There were many of Indian business culture and etiquette that I never knew before. I always knew them for their large technology based items, but never would have thought about them for pharmaceuticals. Their GDP per Capita is drastically lower than that of the U.S. and China, but it seems that the country is growing enough that it could change in the future for the better. I found it interesting that their orientation for the long term was only 51, as I figured it would have been much higher. This video has allowed me to realize what thoughts I had were right, and what were wrong, and how to approach a business from India properly.

There was so much in this video regarding Indian manners that I was unaware of. Indian business culture appears to be considerably more relaxed and courteous than American business culture. Watching this video has substantially broadened my view of India, despite the fact that I have so far so much knowledge about it.

I find it awesome that Indian culture makes an effort to try to use a person's title whenever they can. This is like America, but Americans tend to only use titles in school or the workplace. I have never really had the chance to learn about Indian culture before and it was truly amazing to learn about it through this class.

It is interesting to learn the culture of India. I didn’t know that they could tell one’s origin by dress and language.

This video was very informative about Indian Business culture. Indians business etiquette was interesting. It was stated when receiving a business card, use both hands. Do not put the card away immediately and do not sit on it because that can be seen as disrespectful. This was an idea I have never heard of before. India is the 2nd most populous country in the world and has the 5th largest economy. These things are good to know about the Indian culture.

I think it is fascinating to learn about all of the differences between the business culture and etiquette all around the world. I didn't realize that India had such a large economy, as well as such a big population. I think videos like these help us understand the importance of understanding different parts of the world operate differently and successfully because of their different organizational cultures, scores and more.

I did not know they were the leading country in technology. I love that they strive for progress and not perfection. Many Asian countries have an impeccable work ethic and they are the same. I think that improving is a much better goal that being perfect. I appreciate the knowledge from this video, there was so much I did not know about all of the etiquette requirements for India.

The video does an excellent job highlighting how India has such a large impact on global business and how it’s practices are highly valued on respect but with a more laid back approach than somewhere like Germany. This is interesting because these two things usually do not coincide.

Although I have some prior understanding about India, watching this video has significantly widened my perspective on the country. It was fascinating to learn that they have satisfied more than fifty percent of the demand for vaccines across the globe in 2019. I was unaware that they possessed the capability to accomplish this, and it makes me wonder what other services India offers to the rest of the world.

I learned the most about Indian culture by observing that it is impolite to say, "I'll see what I can do," when you are meeting someone. On a daily basis, I say something similar when I don't have the answer to someone's question. This is acceptable in America, but I would need to come up with a new saying if I ever traveled to India in order to prevent offending anyone.

The way that the Indian people run their businesses is a prominent thing to look at considering it is the second largest country in the world. This video highlights the business culture in India very well using Hofstede's Scale.

I was able to fully get a perspective of the indian culture, such as their success in medical and technology for the world. I was surprised to learn about the caste system that is used within the indian population, even though it was abolished in 1950. This video also goes to show that there may be difference within the indian culture based on their region within the country.

Dennison Amara I have always assumed that Indians are disciplined in their culture and highly professional in business. It's helpful to understand their business thinking, and I'm sure that a big part of Indian corporate culture is around interpersonal ties. I consider it a natural part of their way of life that many Indians prefer cooperating with other Indians.

I find it impressive that in India, there's a culture of patience and a commitment to "strive for progress, not perfection." While there could be drawbacks to this approach, I see it as a positive aspect, creating an encouraging environment where individuals don't feel pressured to get everything right the first time.

I thought it was very interesting that "I'll see what I can do" is a polite way to say no. It was also interesting to learn that India is the second most populated country in the world and also that their pharmaceuticals were responsible for about 50% of vaccines in 2019.

In almost every video I love listening to other countries' business cultures. I thought it was pretty interesting how "sustained eye contact is not normal, especially for a woman looking at a man" because I always make sure to make eye contact when I am speaking to someone. To me, it shows a way of respecting and letting the other person know that I am listening to them speak and is showing that I am engaging with them.

I find it interesting how the business etiquettes in India are very different from those used in the USA. Receiving a business card in India seems to be a big deal when it is compared to receiving a business card in the USA since in the USA there is really not a certain way to receive a business card or any "rules" about how to receive one. "I'll see what I can do", has a very different meaning in India, and an American who does not know this information could be confused when negotiating with an Indian who states this phrase.

What I found most informative about Indian culture was that in the instance of meeting you have to refrain from stating, “I’ll see what I can do.” I use this phrase similarly on a day to day basis when someone asks me for an answer and I do not have one yet. In America this is acceptable but if I were to ever travel to India I would have to come up with a new saying to avoid offending anyone.

I think it is awesome how In India there is patience and how they “strive for progress, not perfection.” Although this can be a bad thing in certain ways, I think it would be very encouraging not to feel like you have to do everything perfectly the first time but to work hard to keep progressing. I think by not expecting perfection people will want to keep progressing even if they are very good at their job because there is always room for progress.

It's hard to quite grasp differences that are incredibly vast between cultures such as Power distance and indulgence of India. As an American, I couldn't grasp not being able to tell my boss my idea's, and similarly, I tend to have high levels of indulgence. Indians are easy to work with in most cases, however, as their uncertainty avoidance is similar to ours meaning we are typically willing to go out on a limb around the same time.

India is a country that many people have neglected to learn much about, especially from a business side, and I feel as though that's an enormous mistake. By many estimates, it's set to become the third largest economy in the world by 2030, and with it's population recently having surpassed that of China, I think people are soon going to have to re-evaluate how they look at India. It's also interesting to see how their history, from their time under British occupation to the Caste system, continues to impact their current way of doing business.

When there exists pretty important gaps in views between generations, managers have to take note of that. As a more urban young Indian population works under older managers with more hieraarchal worldviews, international managers will have to tread that tension carefully.
