Yes this is a huge deal! I'm almost 18 but when I was 16 before starting on working on my private pilots license I was meeting lots of CFIs as suggested by lots of friends in the aviation industry. Trust me it's a big deal when you have a a cfi who just needs hours to get into the regionals and pay their rent VS A guy who truly cares about the student and his passion for flying. It could make or break your experience. JR you are awesome keep it up🙌🏽

This is sweet! Owen is like the perfect guy for this because this is literally his job and what he does everyday! Just to fly peoples new planes to them. So it’s safe to say you picked the right man for this job!! Also great purchase. Am so excited to see you grow with you knowledge in the aviation world!

Great airplane. Might want to put that 4 point restraint on correctly. Should be low and snug on your waist not on your sternum. You will slide under it.

Congrats guys! I own a Comanche 250 I hangar at Deer Valley, but I work in the Scottsdale Airpark. I, similar to you guys, decided to purchase a plane to get my license in. My first aircraft was a Cherokee 140/160 I purchased in Tuscon. If you guys want, I'd be happy to meet up sometime. It's always helpful to have local pilot friends when your headset breaks the day before your checkride like mine did, or you just want to get a second opinion on a cross country plan.

Congrats guys! I have a 2007 Cirrus G2 SR20 of my own. You’re going to love the CirrusLife. Just replaced all of the interior in mine. One quick tip, those seatbelts should be worn low on your waist and then tightened. Looks like a nice plane! Enjoy

I did all the things to enter in the drawing. I used to own a 2002 Cirrus SR22 (your plane's big brother). If you look closely at my profile pic, you can see me in the cockpit of it. It was a great plane. I flew it all the way from Cincinnati to San Francisco and back. One of our stops out and back was Sedona, AZ. I know that airport well. Great views and not too far from the airport at the Grand Canyon. My plane had very similar instruments. That autopilot was my favorite thing about it... well that and the extra power that 320hp gives you. But the SR20 is a better plane for learning to fly in -- you made the right choice. I'll give you a bit of advice: I recommend that you don't just get your private license -- get instrument rated and stay current. You'll find that weather is the single biggest factor in planning trips of any length. Having the ability to fly IFR will help you mitigate that and give you way more options. Good luck with the flying lessons!

@AndresGarcia-wj3dl4 жыл бұрын
Cirrus pro tip: make sure your lap belts are cinched across your waistband and don't ride up to your stomach. See it a lot amongst cirrus pilots. Don't want any submarining to happen in the event of an impact or caps pull. Step climbs also help in the sr20s when you're heavy and it's hot out, the cylinder like to get hot under those conditions. Keeping CHTs under 400 during climbs will help prevent unnecessary cylinder changes in my experience.
@TherebyAir4 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the plane guys. I'm the guy who used to own your red 430, and coincidentally I own and fly a Cirrus SR20 as well. I absolutely love the SR20, best plane I've ever owned. I hope you get to enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours!

I was going to contact owner again This week to see if still, available, and fly out to see plane. Then last night I saw yalls video. Was soooooo bummed but yet excited to watch yalls journey home. Great plane at a great price. I would love the opportunity to come out and take a flight in her. Thanks for the vid and the enjoyable safe flight back to Arizona. Good luck w all and always remember the quote from Leonardo da Vinci “Once You have tasted flight, You will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. Best of success with your flight training journeys. That looks like an awesome aircraft you purchased. Only suggestion is to strive for being the best "Pilot in Command" you can be - everything done by the book, with no deviations. Great opportunity to set an example in everything you do, which will build on-top of your endeavors outside the aircraft.
@triptrish24 жыл бұрын
Great score. I have built a Cozy and worked at FBO's for about 10 years. With composite planes, you want to keep the horizontal surfaces white. Any other color isn't good for the foam structure. You can do other colors (silver, yellow...). I can't remember the entire list. I think you would be safe varying that if you kept it in a hangar (HELL YEA, more car storage!). Now for the sides, go for broke! My biggest suggestion since it is a composite plane, hanger it. Once again, great find. I did it, and would love to come down from Durango!

Enjoyed your adventure! Purchasing an early generation Cirrus SR20 makes a lot of sense when you consider the alternative of purchasing a legacy airframe. Take the legacy aircraft, renew the paint, interior, glass, upgrade the avionics and you’ll end up with far more money in the airplane than you could ever sell it for AND it still will not have all the features that the Cirrus offers. I believe that you are way ahead of the game starting with the Cirrus! P.S I have been an aircraft owner for 23 years, having restored and upgraded one legacy aircraft along the way.
