I just got myself a lower-end, new Mercedes (everything is "lower-end" compared to the S65) and it has a similarly high tech interior and I feel like it has already spoiled me from older models. The older one is far more classy in my opinion, mainly on the exterior. So if you can fix the new one's wheels and paint, I think you'd restore a lot of class and have the best of both worlds

As the owner of a 2012 S63, I agree with you that these S classes are amazing cars. Having a V8 instead of a V12 may be a step down, but honestly, the exhaust note on the V8, I think is better. I also like the rear end of the W221 better than the W222. Somewhere between 2007 and 2012, they did switch to a 7 speed automatic and it is butter smooth unless you really get on it. Flooring my car is almost scary, it's that fast. Thanks for the video and I hope you have a successful sale experience with the S600.

It's crazy, this S600 is what introduced me to Hoovie's Garage and then @Tavarish on youtube. I was researching what the maintenance would really be like to maintain one of these examples and came across the content being upfront about costs. Almost 4 years later, and many of thousands for me, it is great to see the content still drawing fans. Can't wait to see what this one fetches when sold.

One thing to remember the more fancier things the more things that can break. I have an CL55 & an E63-S. The E63-S is a nicer car & a lot more fancier but I just see all the stuff that can go wrong over time that will be expensive to fix. Build quality wise I think the CL55 is a more solid car. The windows are 2 to 3 times thicker than the E63-S so it seems quieter in the car. The E63-S looks nicer but feels cheaper. Like not as solid if you get what I'm saying. Like he said the CL55's 5 speed transmission feels horrible compared to the E63-S 7 speed. To sum it up, I like the E63-S more but I don't hate the CL55 either. Both are great cars though.

The night vision sensor is not in the mirror as you said, the radar is in the grill. I bought my S Class Coupé new so know. Mine is always garage kept and the AMG tag is just that. If you did not have an AMG, it with have the designo tag, nothing different except where the quilting is. On the Designo the quilting in the middle, of the seat, the AMG are on the side. If you had an AMG without the exclusive passion nappa interior, you would not have quilting.

When I was 18 my buddy came and picked me up to cruze the strip in his dads 1994 S600 V12. We had ppl in Porsches, Navigators on 22s, and all sorts of tuner cars drooling at the car almost getting in wrecks. I was in the back pointing at the V12 symbol on the door pillar. It was a 2 door Gold car with black and chrome interior. Soo nice. Nobody wanted to race between lights tho 🤔😂

In design the W221 (the S600) is way better the W222 (the S65 AMG), the W221 has a unique styling and you won't confuse it with a C- Class, the W222 is very easy to confuse with a C180 because lately Mercedes made their cars to be similar to the flagship S-Class So you lose presence in your W222 because an idiot will confuse it with a C180 In my case, I barely identify a S-Class, just for the wheels or the minor S-Class accents The E-Class also0 is easy to confuse with any of the two listed obove

Interesting how the W222 is different but not objectively better than the W222. With the current used car market being what it is prices on S65's are also up so Tavarish's experience getting it for "used "SUV money", sadly, doesn't apply to folks shopping today. Regardless, you can never go wrong with a well-cared-for/sorted S-Class.

Hi Freddy, love the car. My parents have a AMG line 2020 Mercedes S560 4 matic, I can confidently say it is one of the best interiors I've have seen in car, and its just so dang comfortable to drive. My car has a derived AMG V8, not a full on one, but it is still super quick, and the power delivery is smooth. My dad and mom are the ones who mainly drive it, and they absolutely love it. So overall, the S class will always be my favorite car. I am going to see the next car trek episodes now!

You should check out a fully specked LS500 Fsport, it’s only a 5.0 N/A V8 and I’m not sure if it has that rear 1st glass seats but it’s still a gorgeous and luxurious car

I just got an 4matic S350 diesel 2013. Amazing car and there is a kit that integrates Apple car play and android auto into the stock head unit. Up to 40mpg from my personal experience it’s awesome.

C Class doesn’t have the reflectors in the back bumper, E class has them in the middle between the rear lights and the exhaust tips. S class has them right above the exhaust tips. Thats how u tell the difference from the back and s class has longer rear lights.

The PCMCIA slot needs an adaptor to accept SD cards. It will play most media (not video, I think) like MP3's and so on. The max card size is 8GB. I have one sitting here unused I can send to Rex when he gets the car, if he wants it. Let me know.

My 2016 S550 was a bargain when I bought it 2 years ago at 60K ... less than half or MSRP. I just turned 35K and it's ... as many have said .. probably the best full sized sedan in existence.
