EV cars will take off once a single charge a week happens, like filling the tank once a week, we are creatures of habit. That charge needs to be 400 miles range capable or more. The battery must not loose capacity in cold weather, down to -30C. Of coarse the EV needs to be cheaper then it's ice rival. Induction charging at place of overnight parking would be smart too.

that's not possible, it will be more like your phone, easy to charge in any wall plug and takes up to 1 hour to fully charge.

I doubt that a substantial numbers of car owners drive 400 miles per week and I guess that charging stations will become more and more available at malls, parking lots and so on - basically anywhere where you park your car for like two to three hours. Many, many people work their 9-to-5 at the same place, be it McDonalds or a law firm.
