Bye Edinburgh , Was a Caledonian Double room worth the extra .

So our last two Days in Edinburgh staying at the wonderful Fingal hotel.
Sunday turned out to be very wet , a yellow weather warning for rain most of the day . After another great breakfast we caught the tram into Edinburgh .
Our plan was to go to the Camera Obscura attraction for a few hours but when we arrived it was fully booked for the day.
Plan B.. we decided it would be the National Museum of Scotland , an absolute brilliant venue .
Then it was on to Grassmarket to soak up the atmosphere and of course enjoy a drink in one of the pubs .
Before we knew it we were catching the tram back to our hotel and enjoying another lovely meal .
Monday.. We had to be out of the hotel by midday so that meant we had another 12 hours in Edinburgh before our train left
After dropping off our luggage at Waverley Station ,we first viewed a few more of the sights of Edinburgh before returning to Camera Obscura ,where this time we were more successful .
After a meal in one of the restaurants around the area, we still had 4 hours before boarding began on the Caledonian Sleeper.
So we found a local pub near the station and settled down for a few drinks, and some chat with the locals .An enjoyable time was had .
On boarding the train we found our way to our room , and this time went straight to bed , I think the 4 hours in the pub caught up with us .
We did sleep better in this Double room , although for the money you pay I would have to think hard if I would use this way of getting to Scotland again.
In conclusion we had a great time , the journey was an experience , the hotel was brilliant , and Edinburgh was its usual fantastic place to visit .

What an awesome trip. I've been thinking about doing this for my wife for a long time on the Caledonian Sleeper, but that ship you stayed on in Scotland looked something else, Edinburgh looks full of history which is right up our street. Awesome Edinburgh series.

Thanks Marc , We love Edinburgh we have been a few times now . I thought let’s try something different on how to get up there . There is something about Sleeping in a bed on a train . Plus the Whiskey might have helped. Fingal in Edinburgh was really special, I had seen it on another vlog and so I thought I would surprise Pearl . She loved it , Edinburgh is definitely worth a visit .👋

I really liked this one. Beautiful scenery in Edinburgh. I think you really made the most of it. It did look like you had a little more room in the double. Sorry yo all didn't have a loung, but you made the best of it. We are going into the holiday season, and that means cooking and decorating. It is chilly today, but that is how our weather goes. You need to layer in SW Ohio, because the weather changes that fast. Hopefully I will be seeing you on here soon. I enjoy you both so much, and I like our little chats. Stay well!

Hi Rene lovely to hear from you , we always enjoy and look forward to your feedback. We really loved Edinburgh , we love all the history that it has . We certainly slept better on the return journey, there is something about being in bed with the train trundling along the tracks. So your getting into the holiday season, very busy I know but hopefully one that like us you enjoy. We love to see the grandkids getting all excited. I don’t think our weather will get as cold as you get it , we are going into a drier spell now thank goodness after all the rain . We should be back in the early part of January with our New years celebrations on the Ventura Cruise ship . Hi Guys , thank you very much for watching, and yes I am a rotter to my poor wife 😂 it’s all done tongue in cheek and she takes it all very well . We stayed in a luxury room for three nights they also do classic rooms . So the Camera is a DJI pocket 2 , they have just brought out the pocket 3 . I wanted something that was a bit discreet when you are in a crowded place or in a restaurant. Nice little camera it doesn’t come with an sd card so that is obviously extra . Hope this helps, and I promise to keep being horrible to Pearl 😂
