Very good numbers considering it's an early C5. 2001 and up received a bump up in torque and hp. I'm thinking about getting an 03 or 04 maybe next year. Your videos give me ideas on what to do with it. thank you and keep sharing.

iv had mine a year now, its a 01 base model and i have drove it year round its a fun little car even stock which mine is. if you haven't looked up what to look out for id suggest you do that, there are some really common things outside of the standard thing you look for on anycar that you should look for i'll give you a example, if you can remove the battery or get a good look under it is a good idea b/c under the battery is were the computer and some cars have had battery acid leak down onto the computer and sooner or later its going to kill that computer.
@gotmylk3 жыл бұрын
That "bump in HP and TQ" your referring to was derived from the the LS6 intake. Which netted an increase of 5hp and tq. Chris's car already had the LS6 intake before swapping to the FAST. So no, his power numbers aren't good for an early model C5. His power numbers are good for any C5. In fact his numbers are typical of a heads/ cam LS1...when done correctly.

@kevinkeffaber71623 жыл бұрын
That's pretty good numbers. I go back and forth between doing the cam, which we all know makes them sound great, and superchargering, which doesn't give you that great sound but allot more bang. But in the end, are we really going to use all that bang for a nin strip car, and for way more money invested? Haven't really nailed down what the cam and supporting mods are going to cost, but I'm sure it's way less than 6 grand it so for the charger?

Chris, those are very respectable real world numbers on whitey...especially considering your using pump fuel and not race gas...you did good buddy:) I just can't help it, everytime I look at your c5 I just keep remembering the day you brought it home and what it looked like before you started on it.

For those asking about the HP gain from 93 octane. Just putting 93 in a car will not gain you anything. The gain comes from being able to tune differently. So don't go seek out higher octane (and more expensive) fuel expecting better performance. You only need whatever octane fuel your car requires to not per-detonate (knock). Honestly, most stock cars are fine on 87, but its rare to find regular fuel without ethanol.
@mycorvettelife3 жыл бұрын
Yes this is true. And my car is tuned on 91. If I was able to get 93 I would be able to get more power out of it.

Bro you need to swap it to a 6.2, I made 500whp/450tq with a stock fuel system, stock ls6 manifold, cleaned up 317 heads and a big fucking Texas speed cam on a mustang dyno. The 5.7 just can't move enough air to get big numbers NA.
@mycorvettelife3 жыл бұрын
I'm aware that more displacement will make more power.
@cnknguyen3 жыл бұрын
@@mycorvettelife it'll be the easiest way to maximize the upgrades you've already done. A friend of mine with a similar setup as yours, with the 6.2 is putting down nearly 600whp NA and 800+ on a single 200 shot with daily drivability. @@danielkinsler46 that’s highly debatable. If your talking an early C6 with the LS2 and higher mileage like this C5 cost is very close to the same. But a low mileage C6 GS yeah talking 35k+. Looks of all corvettes are great. But if it’s just looks your after and you prefer a C5 then I get it. TONS of variables you can argue if you wanted to.
@frontxxrunner3 жыл бұрын
That's similar to what a C6 gets at the crank, not the rear wheels. He's making probably around 60 more hp over a stock LS3
