They should have kept the 4.2L twin turbo V8 and gave it and the NA 6.2 as options for the CT5-V. The supercharged V8 is great and should stay with the Blackwing, but those would have been great options for the V for folks who want a V8 but don't need the extra HP. That 4.2 was efficient too in the CT6-V. The car was bigger, heavier, and less aerodynamic than a Charger and had AWD, and people were still getting like 27+ MPG on the highway with them. Insanely good for a V8 with that kind of power.

I like that thinking, I agree. I have the CT4-V Blackwing it sounds better than the CT5-V but to not utilize the NA 6.2 in either the CT4-V Blackwing or the CT5-V is a huge miss. I had a C7 Corvette as well such a good car and surprisingly good fuel economy where as the 4BW is actually worse. Can't beat the Blackwing's still!

Dohc with hot v turbos? This ain't BMW, the ct6 4.2tt were cooking the oil like the BMW's. I love dohc v8s but ls/lt engines are more reliable and value efficient. I own the v sport with a lf3 and an xlrv with a lc3 and I love my dohc v8 sound but the lf3 has such a sneaky usable powerband. Personally I don't like the look of the ct5 vs the v3. Looks like a Honda civic

happy yk about the 4.2 BW. nobody talks about it or knows about them. i love sleeper cars/cars that seem to be discontinued before i have enough $😂 would cop an stsv as well

That muffler on that thing looked like a gas tank, not a muffler. On the blue one, I agree with the carbon fiber hood or at least black. The rear spoiler needs to be black for sure. I think the wheels looked good. It sounds good too. 👍👍

If not a carbon hood, maybe paint match the hood with the roof as well as the wing? Carbon/paint matched mirrors could work as well, might be too much contrast though... Keep the wheels though, or at least keep them that size and color for sure. Sick car as it is! Both are sweet, the v6 looks great and sounds great considering it's not the blackwing.

The CT5 V with the V6 will run a 13.3 quarter. The Sweet spot at just over 50K. Of course….The Black Wing is obviously awesome 👏

Nah, the Blackwing looks perfect just the way that it is. If he absolutely has to dump a bunch of money into it, performance parts! Tuning, cold air intake, long tube headers, blower pulley, or whatever projects he’s willing to tackle. Just my personal opinion though.🤷‍♂️

If the hood is aluminum, do not change it. Aluminum hoods are very lightweight, carbon fiber won't save much weight if any at all. Also, aluminum dissipates heat better than carbon fiber so it's better for that supercharged engine that makes a lot of heat. If you want the look, do a carbon fiber wrapped stock hood, best of both worlds.

Carbon wrap the hood. That way if he wants, he can take it off and maybe try a gloss or flat black. No need to spend THAT much money on a hood.
