Probably reverse pickpocketing.

@@CH33ZA I guess that's why NCR troopers want a nuclear winter because they're wearing even more clothes

I never understood why tf ceaser was so forgiving of courier that openly defied him when in his legion he punishes the slightest infringement by death or cruxifiction

For the same reason the NCR will still extend you an invite even if you've antagonized them - your story has gotten out, you're seen as an unstoppable badass, and you have one thing nobody else in the Mojave has - access to Robert House and the Lucky 38. Seeing as how House is a massive obstacle to both sides, it's worth bringing you in to try and get your services, and just assuming any actions you took before now were just because you hadn't picked a side yet. Seeing as how Caesar will turn on you at the first sign you're working against him (or even if you just interrupt his nap time), he's not really being super forgiving. Now if you're wondering why Caesar just assumes you did his bidding in the bunker and never checks? Heck if I know. He's just that arrogant.

There’s nothing better in this game than doing everything you can to hurt the legion while working for them just to piss Caesar off

Adding on to what the post above says, I think it's because the Courier isn't a part of the Legion officially - just like how in the NCR ending you get awarded the highest "civilian" honor - you don't hold any sort of rank in the Legion so maybe that gives Caesar a little more room to be forgiving to someone who's as useful as the Courier
@genericwhitemale9566Ай бұрын
It's pretty heavily implied that Caesar is grooming the Courier to take his place once he dies. Unlike the rest of the Legion, he talks casually with the Courier and even swears. He's willing to go through the entire history of the Legion with them even to the point of dropping the whole "son of mars" act and just being flat out honest about being from the NCR despite the fact he usually kills anyone who tries to debunk his divinity. He goes into great detail about his motivation and even educates the Courier on philosophy. He's willing to forgive the courier if they fail important tasks despite the fact he usually punishes failure with death. In the Legion ending he mints a coin with the couriers face on it which was used as a method to notify people about a new emperor during the Roman Empire.

@@UsaSatsui I mean, Caesar wouldn't check the bunker himself on account of the radiation -- the man's already got one tumour, he doesn't need any more. Doesn't feel like the legion has easy access to radiation suits but, assuming that this would even stop him from sending one of his men down there, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't send a slave. I don't know. The radiation and potential security bots are the only thing I can think of that make double-checking the bunker tricky. I guess there's got to be a reason why he sends the courier and no one else, even when he has access to the platinum chip.
