I think that shit all the time. Im 30 now and got chrons when i was around 20. My story is simlar in the sense i kept going to the gp and consultants and getting sent away with stomach tablets. My parents arent very wealthy so my granpa took out a loan to send me private to get diagnosed but since then ive been with the nhs and ive had treatments that have costed like 100k a year and thats just the medicine not including all the blood tests, doctor costs, nurses costs, infusions, operations etc if i had to guess id say in the last 10 years my healthcare has costed the nhs 2 million. I hope one day i can be rich enough to pay it all back im a pretty positive person but if i have to be honest with myself thats probably not gonna happen. I was always confident id be a millionaire but i really dont have the energy to work 7 days a week and stress is really bad for me and i already run a buisness that i live comfortably off that i purposly dont expand too much as i just dont have time with how often im ill and cant do anything but lay in bed

@SL-xe6mu
@SL-xe6mu 4 жыл бұрын
He got sponsored to go to boarding school because he missed so much of essentially vital parts if education. Ive been volunteering as an assistant in a year 2 class for a couple of years every Wednesday in a very underprivileged area and unfortunately alot of the children have either SEN's or health problems and miss alot of education. Its huge cycle we see all the time, health issues because of poverty leads to gaps in education and then the children often grow up and do the same. Companies, charities and some government funded organisations spend money helping vulnerable children by paying for their education. Going to a state school, a child cant necessarily catch up on work because in my school, under privileged school its usually 1/2 teachers between 35 students so the students don't have the teachers there to catch up on every piece of work they've missed. Obviously this is a much smaller issue but until you see it yourself you don't understand the effects it has later on. Were teaching spellings at the minute, if a student misses 3 days(common) they mis 4 hrs of English- reading and writing. At a minimum this happens once a month, over the year the child is missing 48 hours ATLEAST. but this also means they're missing other lessons too so the other 1 hour of English they have a week they have to do 5 hours worth of work and fall behind very very quickly. Again this is only one subject, one example of a boy in m class that has to spend atleast 3 days in hospital month. Having a condition like lukeimea would SEVERELY affect you primary education. For a person like Callux, boarding school was probably a only option and very desperate last resort.

Yuuuuup. We may have free healthcare but the NHS unfortunately are so poorly underfunded that early symptoms can easily be dismissed. Most recently, I had the same symptoms as I did when I had a chest infection aged 11 and my doctors said it was a bad cold. Stayed off college for a week because at one point I nearly fainted from standing up.

That’s our NHS. I went for a checkup because I was believed to have scoliosis. The army wanted a sort of graph to see how bad it was. The GP didn’t even know what it was so referred me to a hospital. I asked him to check my ankle as well because my tendon was rubbing on the skin. He said it will get better or worse then went on to speak about himself.
