Just now getting back to your great Camino series after four weeks at sea. Thanks so much for the details about the ninja app. It looks very useful. The crowds at the beginning of the last 100 km don’t sound like fun but I like the way you see the positive aspects of the additional pilgrims. Did it make finding lodging more difficult?

The church in Portomarin has a neat story. It was previously on the bottom of what is now the lake made by the dam. Before the dam was built, people etched numbers onto each stone of the church to transport it to the top of the hill, where it is today. Even the Roman step stones you can climb to enter the city from the bridge, were once part of the old town. Well, that’s what I was told by the volunteer at the church.

Elevation maps are critical with any kind of hiking, good to know that Camino Ninja has this feature.

The stairs are right in the beginning in Sarria and are well known. I would imagine there are other routes, but really they weren't as hard as they look! 😆

@@annetcell-ly4571 I'm certain there will be a next time, and yes, I imagine we will be curious to try many of the alternate routes that we didn't take this time. So many good options! 😁
