Hi thanks for the tutorial, I have designed a VR experience myself and I wonder how to export it from UE5 so others can experience it as well?

Well, you are definitely a beginner. Hard isn't it? You never even got around to blueprinting anything or trying to set up a rudimentary movement system. Opening that door would take many weeks of learning how overlapping collision objects and interactions work in VR. I pretty much had the same idea as you, I played VR games for a bit. Then I went through the phase of 'if only' x game did y etc. Then one night at 3am, I woke up in bed after having a dream about a potential 'perfect' VR game. I went to my office and downloaded UE. Watched a couple of tutorials, then followed one to set up VR and played around in a room similar to what you did. My wife came in at around 7am to let me know it was time for work, and I spent all day thinking about my game idea and couldn't wait to continue my quest (no pun intended). When I got home, I couldn't eat dinner and just wanted to play around some more, so... I did... That was in 2019... I am currently around 60% into the development of that same game idea and it's been a long journey. The control system I built is fluid and fully realised, and the game mechanics are coming along nicely. I'll contact you when it's ready for beta testing if you like and send you the .apk for standalone or if you prefer, the .exe for PCVR

I'm not real interested in gameplay just now. I want to build a huge open world to explore. Even with nanite and lumen working for VR in 5.1, I'm still having performance issue (my PC is new and more than capable). I tweaked some things for optimization, but I think for more instant gratification I'm better sticking with 4.27 for now. Any feedback is welcome!!!
@melomaniakjm8 ай бұрын
You can't use nanite and lumen for VR. Technically you can but you shouldn't. Bake your lights for performance. Also go for Forward rendering and change the pixel density through the console, vr.pixeldensity x and x can be from 1 to 2. You will see massive improvments to the visuals.

I have an idea for a VR game. I dont actually have a VR headset but I am still determined to make my game. Does anyone have any advice?
@RushReality2 жыл бұрын
You can do a large amount of game building without a headset but it will be incredibly difficult to optimise the performance without one. You will likely want to make changes and then view the impact on the game as they can be tricky to get to run smoothly. That being said you could get very far into a project without needing to do this and you may even hit other hurdles before then.

Maybe you can use driver4vr if you have a Xbox Kinect you can use it to make as if you had a VR or you could use trinusvr to connect a page if you have one.

hi im a student and preparing for a competition about vr development(make a scene that has interacitve functions,character,animation,level designs ) ,sametime, has a UI platform . The subject is about learning English,also my idea is to grab the letters from one box to combine a word on a screen as a beginner idk how long it would cost (i must finish it in 1 mouth) and is there any courses help me study this ?
@UndeadMunchies2 жыл бұрын
You should learn English before you create a game about learning English.
@mo.shukla2 жыл бұрын
Also it’s pretty hard to get that entire thing setup by yourself if you’re new to unreal. All the best anyway!

Any links to where I can download the UE software you're using?
@RushReality2 жыл бұрын
www.unrealengine.com/en-US/ I used Unreal Engine 4. Its downloaded via the link then ran through the Epic Launcher. Although Unreal Engine 5 is available in early access at the moment and does seem to have more VR functionality, I chose to first run on 4 as it has more tutorials available.
@umadbroimatroll79182 жыл бұрын
@@RushReality use ue5 and you can still follow ue4 tutorials, it will run smoother than in ue4 even. Also when a function or thing has changed you just need to find the new name for it and it's worth it to do

Haha I think you’ve miss understood the concept of the video mate. As I make clear, I have never used the the app nor have knowledge of it at all. Was investigating if a beginner with no knowledge can work with unreal. No doubt I would make mistakes.

@@RushReality well the only way you made that clear is by showing you indeed dont now a thing i would say you shut have said this at the start because how you talk in this video is as someone gives a tutorial shut this is on you you shit have be more clear with you intention of the video But this explains a it all thanks for clearing it up i already had the video ready for upload but ill cancel it and if you still learning welcome to this asome world 😃

@rushreality This troll lol. You don't need to make any change to your presentation. The video's nature was obvious from the start. A guy who's name is freak sheep and can't spell has no place for an opinion.
