He means more towards type coverage than actual skills. The holy grail of type coverage is Ice and Electric. As anything that resist one is taken out by the other. Poison, fire and electric doesn't cover ground or rock. Two very common types.

@@Elderrion Generation one had more bugs than actual features. One of such is the badge boost glitch. Every odd numbered badge gives a boost of 12.5% to one stat. However because of a glitch, every time your stats change in battle, the boost gets re-applied. So say you have all badges and you use harden, normally it would give your defense +50% but with the glitch it gives +62.5% defense +12.5% attack, +12.5% Special and 12.5% speed, all stats except HP. So in this case, tail whip lowered the defense by 50% but raised speed, attack and special all by 12.5% This boost gets removed if he levels up during the fight but can be re-applied.

Have you considered doing "no grinding runs"? I've watched a few of your videos, enjoyed, but I start to feel that it's always the same thing. 1. Select a crippling handicap 2. Grind until the handicap doesn't matter anymore I feel easier challenges without getting your pokemons to lvl 90 would be more entertaining and less repetitive.

You will see that most times he grinds its because he has hit a wall where the challenge is just impossible at that point. He could do easier challenges, but thats not as interesting a pitch, even if you would like the content of the video more.

You sound bored so how about a challenge where you go through the game but you have to catch every type of Pokémon (no exceptions) and when you max out you switch out the the oldest Pokémon in your party (I.E: if you capture a zubat and your party is full you have to go back and swap out your starter for it) and for the added challenge, you’re not allowed to use TMs or HMs in battle, making you have to use the moves you got from the wild Pokémon. Which game you choose is up to you. Also if possible keep the levels as low as possible Help me get this up so he can see this, maybe he’ll have fun with this ☝️

Hey MDB, love your challenges. Thanks for going through so much pain for us :D Anyway, my idea for challenge... Any version. Fully randomized, where you can CATCH all pokémon. But you can only use first 6 pokémon you meet at trainer battles. Unless you meet one of them, you have to use starter pokémon. Meaning: You choose starter from randomized - let's say Bulbasaur. First trainer you meet has Magikarp as first pokémon. That's one of yours from now on. Until you meet Magikarp you can only use starter. Second trainer has Dragonite. That's your second. When you meet one of those, you have to catch it and use. If you don't meet one of first 6 Pokémon you meet during game any time later, too bad. You can only use those you find. I seriously hope this is understandable, because english is not my first language. Anyway, I hope for more of your challenges in future, I love them and you are great, thanks!

A xhakkenge idea: Fossil Pokémon only! Hack your starter into being kabuto, pick up Helix in Mt Moon and Old Amber normaly and beat either gen one or the remake with only those three!

I have an idea for the next challenge. You may like it. When you become the champion in pkmn sapphire there will be pictures of all the pokemon you caught in this run. Linoone is perfect for this run since he can learn surf, cut, rocksmash and strenght, but still you need sub to finish the game, you can try tentacruel since he's a good hm slave but still you will need at least six HM to finish the game. And victory road needs rock smash, strenght, and cascade to arrive there since you cannot use fly. Even forgetting the hm is impossible

I have a horrible idea. You play through a Pokémon game normally. However, you must defeat every trainer, optional or not. Additionally, YOU CANT USE A POKEMON UNLESS IT IS SUPER WEAK AGAINST A POKEMON AND MOVE OF YOUR OPPONENT. If your opponent has a Ghost Pokemon, you must use, say, a Ghost Pokemon. If the next Pokemon on the team is ground, you must switch to an electric Pokémon. Potential additional challenge: You can't use super effective moves against opponents. (Maybe unless you are 4x weak to the opposing Pokémon)

Black 2 with only a Tynamo, also a recommendation for when your filming in areas like the mansion with the checkered patterns. It would be a good idea to either blackout a majority of the area that isn't directly around you or to only show a portion of the time in there at normal speed. I myself am not epileptic but my eyes do tend to hurt from seeing flashing lights like the ones caused from the sped-up blaring checkered patterns and I can also see how that could not be good for someone who is epileptic

Before the video starts, I'm going to predict that he gets Sludge, Double Team, Thunderbolt, and Fire Blast as his final moveset. Edit: Having watched through the whole video, his endgame moveset was Sludge, Tackle, Thunderbolt, and Smokescreen. Sludge is pretty much the best poison damaging move you can get. Thunderbolt is great for dealing with most of the Kanto region trainers. I do question why he kept Smokescreen over using the Double Team TM you find in the Safari Zone. As for the last move slot it really is kind of "eh?" in a sense. Whether to keep Tackle or to have another sort of damaging move. Koffing is very limited on the kinds of moves it can get, after all. Not that bad of a prediction.

When you fight rhydon - smokescreen doubleteam and so on don‘t effect the accuracy of fissure - OHKO moves are ALWAYS 30%

Another great challenge!! Also, if you ever did a challenge in gen 6/7, how about sun and moon with only one pyukumuku? It basically learns no attacking moves, so you're stuck with counter/mirror coat or status moves like toxic. It would be extremely difficult lol
