@@dontlisteninsecret when I buy a new product I test a small pea size on my facial skin, somewhere that if I have a reaction I can easily cover it up until it calms down. I always test 1 product at a time and give my skin at least 1 to 2 days to see if any reaction occurs before I use the product all over my face. For me I tend to test a small dose on my cheek as that's where I'm most sensitive (or if you have a fringe you could try the forehead, another place is trying behind the ear as the skin there is usually quite sensitive as well (at least for me anyway) but make sure you give your skin some time to speak in the product a reaction might not happen straight away it could happen a couple of hours or maybe more. That's why I never buy a new product and use a huge amount straight away. (I'm very overly cautious when it comes to my facial skin, unlike my body I can cover it up with clothes should something happen, but my face is always on display)

Watching this video made me cringe in Soo many! Using the Cucumber mask afterward, it stung because his skin had been sensitized from the “toner” if you can call it that.. toners are meant to balance your pH and your skin. You should be between 4.5 and 5.5. Levels!! I’m actually planning on looking up that product myself and looking at the ingredients list.. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤨 Just PLEASE DONT DO THIS!

I’ve been using ITK for about 4 weeks now. My skin broke out really bad at first, but it is slowly getting better. I think my skin has been “purging” because I have never really use products with these ingredients. They’re all ingredients that are known to cause purging, and knowing my luck it would happen to me. I am hopeful because it is getting better. The toner is strong, so I do not use it often. I really like the milk cleanser and the probiotic moisturizer. The main thing I have noticed besides the “purging” has been that my rosacea has never looked better. Niacinamide tends to really help my rosacea, but serums have never worked for it as well as their products have. I am going to keep trying the products for a couple more weeks. If the “purging” had not stopped by then, I will likely try to find something else. It is just really frustrating as someone with limited money when products do not work for me. I do not have the money to keep trying products until I find the right ones.

Due to some excruciating chronic pain, I've had to scale back my skincare routine. My original routine would have been considered minimal by today's standards, but when dealing with this type of pain, even a few extra minutes is too much. I switched to a single cleanse. My skin is dry and, in my opinion, is easier to get clean than oily skin, and it's not like I've felt up to wearing any makeup. I just use a gentle foaming cleanser instead of my usual lotion cleanser, and if it's a night that I can manage to get in the shower, I wash my face while I'm in there. I dropped ALL serums, treatments, and oils. I'm using a moisturizer, Cerave Moisturizing Cream, that already contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides. I'm very fond of Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream, but I'm already using the Moisturizing Cream on the rest of my body, so continuing with it on my face is faster. Then I put Cerave Healing Ointment on my lips and under my eyes. There are eye creams and lip ointments that I like better, but I already have the Cerave Ointment out to use in my nose for a condition that dries it out. That's a total of three facial products. Four if you count the sunscreen I put on in the morning. I told myself that it was temporary until the spine surgeon that I've been referred to gets me on a treatment plan that helps with the pain. But honestly, I'm thinking about continuing it. My skin is the best it's been in a long time. No flaking or peeling. No contact dermatitis or other irritation. I have fewer sebaceous filaments and blackheads despite not using any exfoliating serums. Even the pores on my nose don't seem to be as noticeable. So the phrase "less is more" can be true with skincare too. So maybe people should try cutting back on the amount of products they use when they have a skin issue before trying to add more. I just wish that I had discovered this truth under different circumstances.
@B0WIETVC15

I am sending you hope for speedy solution to your chronic pain. I have heard that group therapy is effective for people with chronic pain. Again may a solution come quickly. Now for some unsolicited suggestions: Foaming agents in skin care are cosmetic meaning they aren't necessary. It's not the foam that is cleaning your skin. In fact foams can be drying. A cream cleanser instead of the foam or lotion may boost the super hydrating cocoon you're creating for your skin using those Cerave products. We used the same "body" moisturizer, head to toe for my grandmother and noticing her skin's improvement was all the evidence my mom needed to adopt the same routine. What was the reason, if any, you discontinued the serums? It may behove you to select a well formulated hydrating serum that can support your skin by protecting it with other cell communicating ingredients like retinols and antioxidants which will support your skins functions in ways that ceramides alone cannot. You may not notice any deficit now, from eliminating your serums, but think of it as an investment in the future of your skin to use a range of beneficial ingredients. Paula's Choice has a wide range of emollient serums that deliver a plethora of antioxidants and rock star retinol.

Honestly, well done on keeping up with a consistent skincare routine 👏🏻 I know how limiting chronic pain can be and I’m genuinely impressed that you’ve kept it up. Yes, incorporating a retinoid and/or vitamin C will be preventative long-term (and can help you heal from surgery quicker), but now is not the time to focus on what you’re not doing, but what you’re achieving despite the difficult circumstances 👏🏻

The toner does cause your skin to get red, but the redness goes down (at least for me). I use it rarely like once every other week. I only use it at night too.

I definitely would mostly stick with brands like cetaphil, cerave, aveeno, neutrogena, gold bonds, etc. Ya know, stuff that has been around for a while.

The Burt’s Bees cleansing balm is discontinued I think, it's still listed on their website, but it's been sold out for 2+yr, I signed up to get email notifications when it's back and nothing😢. It was my first cleansing balm per your suggestion in one of your 2020 videos, and I am sad they are not making it anymore.

Did it also make your skin red at first? I bought it before watching this video and my skin got super red so I washed it off and looked online to see if anyone else had the same reaction which is how I found this video. I want to try it again cuz I don’t want to waste $15 but I don’t know if the redness was normal or not.

Just remember that some people don’t have any other option than Walmart…. Like where I live Walmart is literally the only store in town that sells skincare. I’d have to drive over 2.5 hours to get to a target or an ulta or buy it all online and have it shipped to me, and that’s just not realistic, so I have to get most of my skincare from Walmart.

Avery Nettles 1 second ago I would not use that apricot scrub on your face it’s not good for it. You don’t want something that has a scent or something that has beads in it. It actually is so bad for your skin I used to use that scrub all the time until I learned a lot more about skin care. The scrub is harmful to your skin because it drys out your skin and can cause redness and wrinkles.

If you too get allergic reactions after using a bad skincare product do this: try to rub an ice cube on your face and then go cleanse it trust me the same thing happenned to me not so long ago and when i did this my skin stopped burning and being red and also after that never use that product ever again and remember not everyone can be allergic to the same products as i have sensitive skin and my mom has combination skin she used the same product and nothing happened to her face so it depends on your skin type the best way to do your skincare routine is to use products for your skin type

I'm surprised you had that reaction to the ITK toner! I've got slightly sensitive skin, but I had no issues with it. I actually really like their moisturizers and their serum sunscreen! Their micro-dart pimple patches are pretty decent too. I wish you would do more of these kind of videos! I'm curious about that Proud Skin brand

The only ITK product I ever bought was from the dollar tree, and it’s the makeup setting spray with spf, which didn’t irritate my skin.. it was pretty convenient for reapplying spf throughout the day, but make my skin look and feel way too greasy\shiny… I feel like as a setting spray for makeup, it’s not the best either

Hyram! I have a question… so when you used the soothing product on your irritated skin, and the burning continued/ intensified you left it on. When my skin is irritated and extra sensitive and I use an OG soothing product it sometimes makes the burning worse initially and I wash off my soothing product because I think it’s making it worse. Do you think the stinging is just inevitable with even non irritating products when your moisture barrier is damaged/irritated and it’s ok to leave a product on despite the stinging?

The most recent reaction I had was from CeraVe Foaming Face Wash for Normal to Oily Skin. I was using the cream cleanser but when the weather gets warmer my skin gets oiler so when I ran out of the cream one I needed something new. I don’t know what was in it but I returned it to target and ended up getting Thayers Natural remedies PH balancing Gentle Face Wash and I LOVE IT
