I will gladly take the much worse fuel economy if I am getting this beauty in exchange. The base MSRP for the RAV4 Prime XSE in the US is $47,560. Add dealer markups, and the price gets really close or even exceeds that of the CX-70, especially considering one is very likely to pay below MSRP. And then, there’s the waiting list for the Prime, which according to some reports is an average of close to two years.

The engine “weirdness” you are describing is because the CX-70 doesn’t have a torque converter and that is the transition from the electric motor to the engine.

This cx-70 is a foot longer than the Rav4, it actually competes with the Grand Highlander.
