Yet another entirely enjoyable video. The effort you go to in editing your videos is incredible. I hope KZbin promotes your videos as I'm sure people will enjoy them. Being a VX220 owner I'm looking forward to hearing what happened to it.

This work is absolutely great. I love the way your videos are made. They are kind of like a tv series, high quality, side storys, new knowledge, fun little parts where you just talk or have fun. Its just a very very nice mix. And to be honest: After I saw the first video about the story of the Miata, I skipped my Amazon Prime series to watch this, because this is made in a better way. Keep it on, I would miss this work.

@@AveragetoPoor I'm biased as a VX220 owner in what I would love to see more of, but do have a lot of love for the MX5, as we have had trouble free ownership of mk2/3/4 MX5's for the wife.

Truth being told, I don't reckon we'll do another travel series on a VX220 or a MX-5 for a long time. Both have been such amazing, fun and special cars, however it'll be fun to experience something new and different. With that being said both cars will likely be featured in shorter form videos (such as video explaining the sad fate of Richard's lovely yellow VX220).
@ItsJinXxy4 жыл бұрын
wow I am so happy I found this video. the drone footage at the start was beautiful. and the quality overall was 10/10! btw increasing your air pressure on the rear tires would make a HUGE difference in how much the car can slide (60 PSI MAX). I have a 1.6 too and it does slide well :D
@AveragetoPoor4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I'm really pleased you enjoyed the video. We had a great time shooting the sequence at the beginning of the episode, the south of Ireland looks epic through the eyes of the drone. Thank-you for the tyre pressure tip too. I'll certainly make sure to pump up the PSI for next time!

Well done Graham, another epic episode. Don't know how you do it the quality, presentation, editing, graphics and story telling are 1st class! Must be the most time consuming hobby in the world? Keep up the good work your channel really is world class, 10/10, and I for one thoroughly enjoy watching :-) Cheers and thanks :-) Ps I think you need a welded diff to drift successfully. Mind you I could get my 1st MX5, a 1990 1.6 on budget 175 tyres to drift fine. That was 25 years ago and tyre technology has moved on. My current 1.8i on 195 section Toyo Proxes is welded to the tarmac! Yes I have owned 3 MX5 NA's through the 90's, 00's, 10's & 20's. All 4 of the decades it has existed (As well as 30 other cars) But i can't be without an NA MX5 :-)
@AveragetoPoor4 жыл бұрын
Thank-you! I'm so appreciative of your kind comment, and I'm really pleased you enjoyed the series so much. It did take rather a long time to make so it's great to hear it's being enjoyed. Regarding the diff, I think you're right. I did chat to some knowledgable people to certify my findings who stated a working VSLD can be drifted however whether a 28 year old VSLD is working well enough is certainly questionable. I imagine above all else it comes down to driver skill, an experienced drifter could certainly do far better with my stock differential than I could do with a welded one haha. I've heard great things about the Toyo Proxes, in fact how good they are has put me off fitting them, as I like having the car be able to slip a little at safer speeds, just for the fun factor. Currently I'm on a set of Falkens which have been perfect for my needs/wants, however as said in the video I'll certainly be needing to change them before my next MOT. Damn you've owned a lot of cars, which car has been your highlight and which has been your biggest disappointment?
@bispal4 жыл бұрын
@@AveragetoPoor Yup I need worse tyres ;-) Highlight of my cars, apart from the MX5's of course, are the 4 x Lotus's inc. an Elise S1 160 and my current Exige 430 CUP plus the dream car I now own a 675LT. Biggest disappointment, a case of never meet your heroes, was a 1985 BMW M635CSi, I think it was just a dog, otherwise anything 4WD or over 1500 kgs or taller than Janette Krankie. Most surprising was an Accord Type R, that was a stonking car that I had no expectation of greatness, unfortunately they are all rusty with 200k miles now :-(
@AveragetoPoor4 жыл бұрын
I'm a huge fan of the Elise S1 160, such a perfect looking car, I always imagine it's the perfect amount of power to enjoy the S1 to the maximum. I expect the Exige Cup is an absolute weapon on the track. And wow, 675LT! That really must be a dream to own! Such a special car with McLaren's return to using the LT moniker. That's really interesting to hear about the BMW, being such a fabled car nowadays. And great to hear you're a fan of the Accord Type R, currently my Accord Type R is parked beside my MX-5! However you're right, rust prevention is scary on those cars, fortunately the hard VTEC jump at 5700 RPM just about makes it worthwhile.
@bispal4 жыл бұрын
@@AveragetoPoor The elsie S1 has the best steering of any car I have driven at any price and with 160 bhp is so chuck-able and slidey. I had no idea you had an Accord type R! Great cars. Do you have one of the earlier or later cars? How is your bulkhead ;-) What colour?
@AveragetoPoor4 жыл бұрын
They are great cars. I have a pre facelift model, year 2000, in Night Hawk black. The bulkhead is solid fortunately however the car had a laundry list of problems when I bought it, I had to replace the rear callipers and handbrake cables, rebuild both front callipers, swap out the brake master cylinder and brake booster, replace the power steering return pipe and much more before getting it working as it should be. Now that it is mind, it's an incredibly exciting and capable drive. Did you encounter many problems on yours?

Had an NA since October, drove from Watford to Northampton to pick it up with my brother and on the short journey home I fell in love with it. Had to go for the BRG same as this, it looks so regal sitting next to other red, blue, and silver cars. I've really had the itch to get it on the drift pad lately, so might throw some coilovers and knuckles on it. I've maybe had it accidentally sideways a few times on wet roundabouts but other than revving and popping the clutch I have no idea where to begin.
