I like to have a coffee a bit before my run I find it energizes me. Beet juice would be something to try. Awesome Stephane!

Yeah, coffee is such a great invention! They do sell beet supplements these days to make it easier to have regularly.

Haha! Thanks Sage. I do not have any recommendations, I know that Kipchoge apparently takes Beet It USA... Must be effective.

The clip with you masterfully avoiding spilling your coffee while you run and sip your cup of coffee... 🤣On a more serious note, could having too much caffeine before a race have a negative impact on performance?

Hey Thomas! Certainly too much caffeine can have a negative impact on performance. Possibly on health too. It's what athletes have complained the most: too much of it and you lose focus. A combination of supplements seem to suppress that. Stick to the recommended dosages of 3 to 5mg per kg of body weight, it's already plenty. And most important, test to see how your body handles it.

Interesting! Some more things to try. I may be broke if I try to eat 2 beets a day in Singapore. They are not cheap! Any South East Asian alternatives?

Ah interesting. So cheap in Vietnam... I think bok choy might do the trick. Or western spinach.

@@ed7268 by far my least favorite veggie. Makes the rice wet when they put it on top. And they try to save it with oyster sauce over it 😭.
