F250 2005 6.0 diesel fan clutch replacement shroud removal water pump belt

This is a 2005 F250 6.0 diesel
Had to replace the water pump, fan clutch. So I show how to take out the 2 piece of the fan shroud and how we air hammer the fan nut lose. YES YES thanks we know there is a special tool to do it but we don't own it. Pretty easy to do just remember on the bottom of shroud ( driver side) there is a push in plastic that hold the lower radiator hose in place. If you forget it then your going to be fighting the shroud when u go to pull it out.
I don't show the water pump replacement but use a half inch ratchet on belt tensioner AFTER AFTER YOU LOSEN THE WATER PUMP PULLEY BOLTS or impact them. Then there 4 bolts that hold water pump on. If you look at water pump bolts are OFF SET. SO PUMP GOES ON CERTAIN WAY.
Hardest part of the whole job is the fan shroud if u have never taking one apart before.

How did you know the fan clutch was bad? I spun the fan with the engine off and it didn't hardly move. My fan is very loud with RPMs but quiets down when you let off the throttle. I just bought the truck and going through the paperwork it looks like the fan clutch was just replaced a couple years ago. It's hard to even hear the diesel engine over the fan while driving. Do you just recommend the Ford motorcraft OEM? I know there's some cheaper ones with decent reviews on Amazon

think this truck the wiring was cut and coolant temp was always up.. and when it working right you will hear that sucker kick in big time over the normal diesel sounds for a min or 2 until the temp comes down. but to get it to kick on u have to working the truck hard.. are you over heating what making you look at it.. or is it just loud ass going down the road.. u can unplug it once to see if it changes.. i think some guys will screw it or rig it to be on all the time

@@canudie1978 because this electric fan is on all the time and loud. I think it's stuck wide open and I just had it installed 12 months ago. It's very loud even in the morning after a cold start It gets louder as RPMs increase. I'm thinking about doing this 7.3 mechanical fan mod because I tow a lot. I'm just worried about it being really loud and annoying all the time. I don't mind it being loud going up a hill or something but I don't want it to be really loud just driving through town 35-40 mph
