I met this lady at a workshop right before the release of her book and she is a really nice person. She is also a very smart person that communicates and teaches well. I'm still in the 2nd chapter of the book but I personally can vouch for this book from what I've read already.

Anyone else learned about microexpressions from tv show Lie to me? I love that one! Another thing I love doing when I am talking to people is finding out what they like to do and what they are interested in and then I ask them questions about that. There is always something to learn, even if you feel like you already know everything about it. Because we each understand things differently and so even if you don't end up agreeing with the other person, you can still learn that there is more than one interpretation to any fact or info and that keeping an open mind is a key to successful conversation and relationship.

how come your content is ALWAYS interesting and inspirational? like i really enjoyed the video and instantly added the book to my to-read list. honestly man, i have nothing but appreciation and admiration for you and your hard work! keep it up!

Spot on! These are great tactics for social enhancements. I especially agree with letting people teach you, even if you already know it. I've been doing this for some time and you'd be amazed how many times people light up when you ask them for more info. Yes, the majority of the time it's redundant information but you do get on their good side and will learn a thing or two. Another thing would be when you're trying to get to know different coworkers/departments at your job. Ask them about projects and/or some personal passion you know/heard about them (easy one is sports/kids). You'd be surprised how quick you catch their attention. Happy socializing!

Great great book review brother! indeed, body language is extremely important when you are out there in the world. depending how you use your body language, you can come across as being a weak person, a lazy person, having low confident, etc. if you want to influence people or have people respect you more, practice on improving your body language. specially if your trying to attract another woman. did you know that females are way more perceptive than man? in other words, they are able to spot the contradictions between a man’s body language and their words. this is why most men get caught lying to their women. MRI scans shows that women have 14-16 areas in the brain to examine other people’s behavior versus a man; 4-6 areas in the brain. this explains why men say women talk forever and women say men talk very little. that being said, body language is crucial when communicating with others. Good work Practical Psychology! hopefully soon I’ll be collaborating with onepercentbetter on a book review I did about body language so wish me luck! God bless you brother!

Very nicely done! One of the best you've done in a while I think! Thanks for sharing! Side note... It's pronounced like pig-MALE-ion. The original story of My Fair Lady was called Pygmalion since Professor Higgins "sculpts" Eliza to be the perfect woman...fun fact! ;)

What if I got a problem looking other people in the eyes? When I talk and get mentally involved in my story, then my focus drifts away from the person in front of me to what I'm doing (thinking of every detail, while my eyes tend to drift down). Even worse, if I observe someone and he/she looks me in the eye, it makes me feel uneasy. Subconsciously, I seem to take it as an intrusion in privacy and as an aggressive act which requires a fight or flight response, which I have to suppress on a conscious level.

"Pygmalion effect" for me is like "Give a dog a good name" section in How To Influence people (I'm not very sure it's the exact title, but.... The author's name is spelled close to something like Carniege or something like that I'M SO SORRYY I'm bad names)

Really good video but felt like you threw fact after fact really quickly where it was hard to fully comprehend before learning the new fact. A psychological study says if you say the same information three different ways to audience will remember it more likely. Just a tip
