Honda, when you refresh a vehicle, you might want to think about updating the infotainment to the latest software. This is the 2nd time I have seen a Honda refresh a vehicle and keep the crappy old infotainment. And they take away the only good CRV engine? The 1.5 is an oil diluting pos.

My 2019 Honda Insight that I purchased 17 months ago (July 2018) has the latest infotainment software which is way nicer then this one..... baffles me why they would still have this outdated system. Totally agree with you about the 1.5L turbo engine......DEAL BREAKER for me...... not only for the oil dilution but in the long run the turbo will give out. If I get an suv it would be either a hybrid Rav4 or CR-V but I see the new hybrid CR-V doesn't have a spare tire which makes me lean towards the Rav4.

@@henryhonda8408 they did the same thing with the civic, kept the outdated crappy infotainment. Also, why Honda cheaps out on the rear door is beyond me. Its like that on our 2012 Odyssey. Soft touch in the front, hard touch in the back.

@@henryhonda8408 Agreed, but the RAV4 is so claustrophobic that I really have to be careful not to bang my head on the damn door frame every time i get in it. No leg room in back seat, no head room in the front seat, and the console is so wide I can't get comfortable with it hitting my knee in a very annoying way. I'm only 6'. For those reasons, I took my chances with the CRV even though I'm a long time Toyota guy.

Yes. It is. People needed to go for the platinum trim on the previous generation which was 2016-2018 to get led headlights.

I think the redesigned 2020 Toyota Highlander is going to beat the CR-V ....on the new Toyota platform which makes it 3 inches longer with 2 more cubic ft of storage in the back, & tighter handling. More power with a standard 6 cylinder automatic engine, no oil dilution problems! It comes with AWD or Front wheel drive, gas or hybrid...you get your choice how you want your car! the hybrid is a 4 cylinder engine. Plus Android auto play. I wanted to trust Honda but when you can smell the oil dilution on a test drive in a NEW CAR like my friend did, he jumped out and told the salesman "No thanks!" So I ordered the 2020 Highlander XLE, which debuts the middle of December. Can't wait for your review!

Also, a lot of things you mention on the new Highlander that are already on CRV, like FWD or AWD, gas or Hybrid, Android auto is already on CRV before Highlander gets Android auto, Highlander doesn’t even get apple CarPlay until 2020 Highlander. Also, on a second thought, I heard Highlander only comes with apple CarPlay, not sure if it will come with Android auto.

CRV Features in Canada that USA doesn't have: Panoramic Sunroof (standard on 🇨🇦Touring and up), the EX-based Sport trim, the Black Edition trim, Standard pushbutton start with keyless entry and remote engine start (in 🇺🇸, this is not available on the base LX), Heated Steering Wheel (standard on 🇨🇦Sport and up vs only Touring for 🇺🇸), Heated rear seats (standard on 🇨🇦EX-L and up), 5-beam LED fog lights on also the nonhybrid model (standard on 🇨🇦Touring and up, 🇨🇦Sport and EXL and 🇺🇸 nonhybrid models have just one beam), Lanewatch (standard on 🇨🇦Sport and up before blind spot monitoring on Touring and up, though you Americans have BSM standard on EX and up), and AWD standard on all trims except the base LX which can be had in either 2WD or AWD

I wish Honda would build an Elite trim level that offers ventilated seats, enhanced sound deadening, and dual moon roof, along with a better radio system. Honda could do a better job at reducing engine noise, it's very intrusive and degrades travel comfort. I test drove the Touring model but it lacks creature comforts. We do not have Acura dealerships in close proximity, so that rules Honda products out for me. I yearn for a Honda, but they won't manufacture a higher trim level, which is sad. Consumers are relegated to very austere trim levels that are barely inhabitable. Very melancholy Honda, stop being so stingy.

Howdy, great review as always, I’m glad they expanded the turbo to all trims, the 2.4 was outdated and inefficient. I love the new tail lights. My biggest complaint is that they didn’t upgrade the old infotainment system to the new one.😸😻😸

For me, regardless of engine issues, I couldn’t find a seating height and position that was comfortable and able to see out reasonably well. I was wondering if they would address the engine oil dilution concerns. Oh, and why wood trim?!?

They do a refresh, but don't redesign the 1.5 turbo engine that has the oil dilution problem. All of them with a 1.5t have this issue. The engines will not last like they should. Google CRV OIL DILUTION and see that 2 years ago Chineese gov stopped Honda CRV sales and still has not been resumed.

Same 4 cylinder turbo engine that mixes the oil and gas because the high pressure causes the rings to leak gas into the engine compartment. Honda has extended the engine's warranty to unlimited miles and 6 years. At 6 years and day 1 you are on your own. Basically, you can get killed if this engine seizes on the highway and you can't move but the 18 wheeled tractor trailer is still moving at 75mph as it hits you from behind. I sold mine with 6,000 miles. HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS OIL DILUTION PROBLEM.

1.5 oil dilution GDI carbons up the valves and the CVT fails at 70000 miles so the power train is a -LEMON. So sad last good CRV 2014 with regular trans and 2.4 port injected engine
