Who is this reviewer and how can he make such a basic error? He goes on and on about how technologically sophisticated the car is (true) but doesn’t read the manual or consider that there are other ways to unlock the car, more sophisticated ways than an RFID card? He isn’t much of a “guru”.

Did test drive of Rivian, Tesla and gone for test Lucid gravity and picked Lucid Gravity. Its just amazing

best review! I saw the ev9 (I have the ev6 GT, and we are parents now). but felt cheap compared with the ev6 gt, Wife looked at the jeep grand cherokee L or grand wagoneer (we have a 2014 grand cherokee that we love), but they are not electric, or either even hybrid versions but they have al the luxury. Watching this video showing the best key factors, like not having android or apple car.... is a huge bummer. I see me having a phone holder like 10 years ago... the seats not fully electric to fold.... and the rear hit the second row... it states what you said. is sort of a tech company, that never did cars before. they add cool techy stuff, but they forgot the car part. What I love from Jeep, is that grand wagoneer has 4 screens, super tech, a lot of stuff. BUT you still get physical buttons for climate, mirrors, etc. Even the EV6, has sort of dedicate (touch but still handly) buttons for climate. After this video we crossed the rivian out of the list. Either rewatching the ev9, or waiting for the ram 1500 hybrid.

The mirrors, key card, and touch screen only buttons is all industry standard for Evs set by Tesla. All of that is welcome for me, not surprising

Matt is one of my favorite reviewers. Loved seeing how adjusting the mirrors is a four-step process. Hey, Car Gurus, how come you don't include the delivery fee in the price? Why make it separate in small fine print font? Makes me feel like I'm watching an advertisement, not an independent review.

Thanks for the compliment and the question John! So here's the thought process behind pricing. Not every automaker lists their prices the same way, some include destination, but as you know, most don't. Because it's not entirely consistent, as a baseline, I use the listed MSRP at the time of editing and then note if it's inclusive of fees or not. However, I do defer to what the reviewer states verbally on screen, and then note as needed. In this video Matt stated the price without destination, so that was the big number on screen, with a note stating the fee exclusion. In other videos, for example Natalie's recent review of the Chevy Equinox EV, she states that all of the prices she's listing are including destination, so those are the numbers shown on screen, with a supporting note of course.

Yes you have mentioned multiple times that you dont push a button to turn it on. But you never mention, how it GETS TURNED ON.

@burtondavid1054 I'm also wondering how the car starts if there isn't a key and no button. He mentions a couple of time about there not being a button to push but never mention how it turns on, which I thought is important.... If your significant other came home and mention multiple times that "We don't have to work anymore" wouldn't you expect a follow up statement? Why not? Did we win the Lotto? How is it possible?

@truyentruong9015 i test drove an R1S, it detects that the key card is in the vehicle when you get in. You then tap the key to the phone charger tray, that "starts" it. Only then it will let you put it into drive. To turn it "off" you simply get out once it's in park.

I have the 2025 Rivian R1S. I pretty much exclusively use the App. as the key. So long as my phone is in the vehicle and the App opened, I simply depress the brake, put the vehicle in gear and go. When I am finished, I put the vehicle in park and then just walk away with my phone and the vehicle locks automatically or I can hit the lock button on the App.

My big worry with these is reliability. I saw they came in deadlast in reliability in the latest consumer reports study and I've read nightmare stories.

This is a complete lie. Consumer Reports is a bought and paid for old school company. I have three R1S’s. Owned 150 plus cars. This is my favorite.

Well, I’ve owned my R1S for a year. Wonderful car! Best I’ve had. One thing went wrong, last summer-the front frunk lid wouldn’t operate automatically. It turned out it was a sensor failure, which I got fixed under warranty. Took a 5000 mile road trip this past summer. Wonderful experience! “Consumer Reports” is completely wrong about this.

Rivian was rated the single worst car brand on the market today. If you don't want an ICE or gas electric hybrid, you'd be better off buying a bicycle.

Rivian is a RICH persons car ..Buy a chev Brand New Ev in Seattle for 29000 Know wonder Biden gave them a Billion dollars haaaaa..If u waunt America to go EV then build and Price them like Chev and Nissan do for Everyone The Chinese are !!!!!!!!!
