If you just starting, I think there’s a little forgiveness in the comedy circle, since you have idols and such. He took Paul mooney stuff and Ari Shaffir too, well into his career though. Other comedians might have been doing it, but he did it to the extreme and didn’t have discussions with comedians when he did it, doing hour sets, and doing walk-in’s pushing out other comedians time slots, and used his mind of Mencia show as leverage, because no comedian is going to expose him because of business reasons. Joe Rogan did because he didn’t care. He probably knew other comedians did it, but he just didn’t like Carlos personally and stealing jokes gave him more reason to expose him and because he had comedian friends who were stolen from, and he felt braver. Joe Rogan was more ballsy and edgier back then, kinda macho. He’s chilled out now because he’s older and he smokes weed and such, even Bryan callen said this on a podcast. Carlos mencia did this to himself, i’m sure the comedians back then, gave him chances, but he just kept burning them. What happen with carlos was gonna happen eventually, Joe Rogan just speed it up.

And? Bill Cosby has stolen jokes from others as well. Almost any of the top comedians old or new steal jokes. Even George Carlin stole a joke from The abbot and Costello show from 1952. Richard Prior stole an absolute shit ton of jokes. Robin Williams stole probably the most out of anyone. I guarantee that if you had all the footage from all comedians in the past 100 years, that every single well known comedian in the past 50 years has stolen jokes, and more than just one or 2.

Rogan had just pointed out that no comics were going to do their best material because carlos was in the back of the club
