People criticize IONIQ 5N by its sound and clutch are all fake. However, it is an option that only Hyundai can provide that other companies do not. The EU will ban the sale of internal combustion engines within a few decades, and not only in the EU, but in many countries as well. In this situation, Hyundai's attempt to transplant the advantages of the internal combustion engine into an electric vehicle deserves praise. Also, they work very well and make the driving experience smoother and enhance the fun. These options can be turned off at any time, and the '650hp' & '0-100 in 3.4 sec' BEAST can be transformed into the normal IONIQ 5, one of the best family EVs, anytime. It has all the same conveniences such as enormous interior space and V2L. The best part of the IONIQ 5N is not numbers like '0-100 3.4sec' or '650hp' (although it is already powerful enough). Ilt has the best driving feel and cornering and tremendous chassis performance of any EV under $100K currently. IONIQ 5N recorded a lap time of 7min 45sec at the Nürburgring. It is similar to Porsche Taycan and Model S Plaid. EV's output drastically decreases after driving at maximum speed a few times due to the heat of the battery. However, the IONIQ 5N remains fine even if driven at full power all day. Hyundai may not the best in EV technology, but it has the world's best technology in battery heat management. Tesla's '1000hp' is only a peak number. I think sustainability of power is more important. If this car was made by a German brand like BMW it would start at at least $150K. But IONIQ 5N starts at $65K. This is by far the best value options for anyone considering a sporty EV.

The advantage of the I5N is that it can use one car for two purposes. It turns into a comfortable family CUV when all sports functions are turned off, and it turns into a high-performance hot hatch as soon as sports modes such as N-lace or N-shift are turned on. Well, most of us can not afford a car starting at $84k (ioniq 5N).... but a $25k Mazda MX-5 will probably be a lot more fun on the track anyway, and for the $59k we saved, we can get a Kia EV6 with a trailer for the Mazda :)

@AndrewTSq Cheap, light, slow "wannabe-sportish' 2 door Japanese cars can't compete against Korean high performance EVs in terms of powers, space and maintenance cost. Which means it drives really fast in every corner and can take family as well. But 2 door Japanese coupes are not as fast as 5N and needs another 4 door suvs to hauling family.
@BondiBeache7 ай бұрын
@@AndrewTSq You can receive help from Mazda until you get married. As soon as you have kids, you'll need another car. If you still enjoy the track even after becoming a father, this vehicle will come to mind. Hyundai already has vehicles like the RM20e. But it wasn't released. That category is for young people who don't have money before marriage. The market size is very small. A lightweight sports car is not a family car; as soon as there are people in it, the balance is lost and the low-displacement engine starts whining unpleasantly. Additionally, it is unstable at high speeds when driving long distances. When returning home late at night, you must be mindful of the risk of disturbing nearby residents and do so at a slow pace. If you don't start the car when you want to take a short break in the car, you won't be able to use the air conditioner or heater. It is also not suitable for camping. But IONIQ 5N can do all of this at the same time. There is a video on KZbin of a driver riding the Nürburgring with four friends and having fun. It transforms into a completely quiet family car with one button, and even the back seat is spacious and comfortable. When you go camping, you can freely use electricity with V2L to light, cook, listen to music, and use the air conditioner and heater without starting, but even if you use it until the next day, it does not exceed 10%.

I used to drive my Audi S4 at the time on tracks, but the breaksystem failed and new calipers and disc was in need to get home... so i later drove a lot of track mostly cars like Porsche 944 etc. Also even with light cars you will see your tires get hot and wear, so with 1.3 tones extra and way more power you will be lucky to have tires to take you home after a few laps.

The only one that excites me is the IONIQ5 N, with i5 M60 on far second and Taycan close third. Feels like Hyundai put an actual effort to make EV exciting. I, for one, cannot wait to see what Alpine can do with the upcoming Alpine-Renault 5 EV. Normal Taycan 4S or Turbo is more than good enough, turning it into a faux-GT3 just ruins the usability of it. i5 feels like a normal car, but at the end it doesn't excite. Lotus is just atrocious, they absolutely hate their old fans and customers, feels like Geely just want to use Lotus name to sell cars Tesla is a car. Alpine-Renault 5 EV!! This is a car I'm really looking forward to. Geely is absolutely using Lotus for that. All you need to know is that they will no longer be making ICE cars after the Emira. Geely bought Lotus to get into markets where they had no presence, relying on the Lotus name to appeal to an upmarket audience who would otherwise turn up their noses at the idea of owning a Geely. As a former owner of an Elise, it is very sad indeed. I will probably buy another Elise in the next couple of years - especially given the trajectory of cars in the future. Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group's global sales volume is the third largest in the world, following Toyota and Volkswagen, as of 2024. This statistic is that Hyundai-Kia Motors has almost withdrawn from China. In the end, they are recording this level of sales despite selling almost nothing in China. However, they are achieving the highest net profit rate among major global automakers (net profit rate is over 10%). They recently caught up with Tesla. Global statistical organizations predict that in five years, Hyundai-Kia will dominate the global auto market and become the number one seller. Despite this, Hyundai-Kia Motors is recording an overwhelming sales volume in Korea, but most Koreans still think that German brands such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW will have overwhelming performance. However, I have been driving numerous European, American, and Japanese cars from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Volvo, Lexus, Infiniti, Land Rover, Ford, and Jaguar for about 30 years. Of course, I am Korean, so I drove Hyundai and Kia cars. Until about 25 years ago. However, looking at the Hyundai and Kia cars that are being released these days, I realized that the gap with these global brands has narrowed, and the European, Japanese, and German brands that I have driven for 25 years do not have the quality, durability, and performance that they once had. So I am also wondering if I should buy a Hyundai or Kia car as my next car. This is because I cannot help but admit that the Hyundai and Kia cars of today have many advantages, such as great design, initial quality, durability, low parts prices, and after-sales service. Even now, Hyundai and Kia cars are being criticized by many consumers in Korea, but it is not easy for such Koreans to find a car more attractive than Hyundai and Kia cars when they actually choose a new car. My next car will probably be Hyundai's Genesis GV80. Thank you for reading the long article. ^ ^

Because batteries are chemistry, not IT technology. It is a field that evolves from countless hours of failed combinations. Tesla announced the firing of Drew Baglino. Firing him is the same as giving up on internalizing the battery. When the time came to compete with NCM9, Tesla probably decided that it could not acquire the technology. There is still no company with battery technology that surpasses Korean companies. Both CATL and PANASONIC are staying at NCM811. The Korean batteries used in IONIQ 5N, SILVERADO EV, and F150 LIGHTNING are NCM9 HALF HALF, and the battery used in the most recently released Porsche Taycan is a battery containing LGES' latest technology, silicon cathode. The reason why high charging and discharging of NGB and N Pedal is possible in this vehicle is because of the high battery performance.

Makes very little sense to me and to be honest I feel that each brand is short changed by way of conditions. Yes, they all faced those same conditions but we all know that all cars are not created equal when it comes to slippery or wet surfaces. What a shame and I say that with the greatest respect for what CAR magazine did with the conditions they faced. Surely performance cars of this ilk deserve a dry track for a proper test. One also cannot help but think that the fact that the presenter has had already driven the Hyundai Ionic N on a dry track at its launch, got to put it through its paces and see its true performance potential helped in choosing the winner? I can’t help but think perhaps if this test was in dry conditions the result would have been different. Only my view here, and as a fan of performance cars not a brand, it has nothing to do with who actually won, more so was this test an accurate and fair assessment for all the contenders.

At some point you have to suspend your scepticism when _everyone_ who reviews cars for a living agrees that it's something special. I also just heard from a friend who drove one this week and he was impressed as hell - and his daily is 650 HP RS6. So I'm going to test-drive one when I can to find out for myself, and you probably should too. For reference, _my_ daily driver is a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, with a 6-speed manual and the NA 3.8L V6. lt's the only Hyundai I've ever owned, and the only reason I bought it then was there were very few cars even then that still ticked all the RWD/NA/manual boxes. I had no attachment to the _brand,_ and I still don't. But my _car_ has been a pleasure to own, so I'm perfectly willing to give the 5N a chance.
