Meat is life. So I ate meat for 30 days. 60 pounds to be exact. Pork chops at that. It’s the Carnivore diet. And I’m loving it. But what happened…

Beef is less inflammatory than pork. Maybe better to eat fatty ground beef. And try to cut back on butter, and walk after you eat the meal. These are tricks that I learned. You need to eat RUMINANT animal meat, so beef, lamb .....

Good for you. Keep going. Excited to see if there are changes with beef. Also try pork belly instead of the pork meat cuts; that would work better for weight loss and it’s still low priced. Also check the ingredients in your salt 🧂. Make sure it’s just a one ingredient salt. Only salt to taste. No salt in water. Sad to hear you are NOT losing more weight when you are staying strict and really trying. Cortisol and stress also impede weight loss.

30 days into carnivore is not enough time to make any concrete declarations about what works best for your body. Your body is still adapting and changing to a natural diet. Most people who switch carnivore see dramatic weight loss at first and most of that is due to All the inflammation going down. When I switch to carnivore I was losing somewhere between 0.6 and 1.2 lb per day. Some days I may see no change. The next day I'm down 3 lb. My diet was primarily beef and eggs but I did eat pork steaks as well. Meat is much more nutrient dense than the pork. Hogs are usually fed all kinds of scrap foods leftovers and they don't get to eat a natural diet themselves. Cows however have a much more complex digestive system. I would not completely write off pork. In fact I would probably alternate between the two every few days. Don't skip eggs they're basically a vitamin. I started carnivore diet on 5-14-2023 And by 12-25-23 I had lost 80 lb.

In my case, pork causes inflammation/water retention. Might have something similar going on there. I also ended up not using butter anymore, but that's because my body decided it just didn't want it anymore, not any conscious decision on my part. I also started out very high on the salt intake, then that dropped off to barely any now as well. The body will tell you what it needs once your addictions to carbs is broken. Also, Iodized salt has dextrose in it which is another thing that breaks down into sugar in the body. Funny how many things exist out there that you wouldn't think are related, but turn out to be 100% part of the problem. It's insidious.

@paisana9378 Just had another thought I forgot to mention. Carnivore is a high fat diet. It's a high fat diet when you normalize your weight. You and I are in the same boat as far as the amount of fat is concerned. I am fasting, which will speed up my fat loss. Metabolizing body fat takes a lot more work by the body than using freely available fat in butter. 🧈 You're losing weight, but you could lose more by making your body burn your own fat as much as possible instead of burning butter fat and your fat together. If it's getting enough energy from butter, it's not going to bother burning yours.

It's much easier to intermittent fast on carnivore diet than it is a carbohydrate diet. The reason is because we get really hungry when we don't have nutrition. Meat is nothing but nutrition. Carbohydrates are typically highly processed and void of all nutrition intentionally so that we eat more. That's why people go hangry if they skip a meal while eating carbs. Honestly, you are eating too much protein in one sitting. You do not to eat that much protein in a day. You should be consuming around 100 grams of protein. Excess protein converts to glucose.

100g protein is about 1 1/4 of meat. I’d be starving myself with that little food.

Doesn't Dr. Anthony Chaffee eat 2 lbs of steak daily? I don't think you can eat too much meat. Eat till you're comfortably stuffed, then save any leftovers for the next meal.

@@lectrickitty there is a formula that says 1 gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight based on your height. I’m 6’4”. Depending on the formula to calculate it, my ideal weight is between 174 and 201 pounds. I have a large bone structure so I’d err on the upper side. 200 grams of protein is 2 1/2 pounds of meat at 80 grams protein per pound. So I’m doing good. I think.

You don't need extra fat. Your body will burn your own fat.

@WeAreTheCarnivoreFamily There is plenty of fat in pork chops...even more in beef.

It’s a tricky balance to find. I’d rather eat fat than carbs. At least for weight loss it seem better.

You need to eat less more times a day. Your sending your body into fight or flight mode and the one meal is being saved in the body instead of being burnt cause your body thinks it might be forever before your next meal.
