​​​@@BigBossGRI've gone through this before but Kojima uses violence to and violation and deaths of women as a crutch to (attempt to) inject strong emotions into his stories too often, and it feels really hack-y at times. Often there's a lack of setup and payoff and just there to be shocking and edgy. It's a little different with Naomi but her death is just plain stupid so you don't really feel anything for her, so the game instead focuses on Otacon's reaction because we actually care about him haha. Wrt Death Stranding... all I can say is that the female characters and their stories are more interesting than in MGS. It's still not great but I think it's an improvement.

Super cool cosplay. Nailed it as always. Love the USB, I had the same one. 😂 28:45 The cosplay still holds up since you always liked Vamp. It's kinda cool to have that split view and the Raiden Vamp fight, but also, you can't really watch it at all, because you need to concentrate on the Gekkos way too much. 😂 That Gekko fight was pretty tough. There are so many of them! It's not just Metal Gear. Chloe, Shepard (more or less twice even, maybe), Tifa (They even created a world with Zack alive, to kill off Tifa, just because you cosplayed her). You killed off so many characters already... Driving the Rex was super fun, also the boss fight against Liquid. Raiden does ninja moves all over... can't evade some rubble falling down. That Ray scream surely also meant "BROTHER!!!" upon seeing Rex. 😂 I would've expected that the close combat attacks would do more damage. I stayed back and never used them and destroyed Ray without taking too much damage myself. Liquid has a huge ship with surely dozens of weapons on it.... decides to kill Snake by ramming him. 01:46:55 Dude, don't kill Mei Ling also! 01:51:25 And his hands on all the places. Great episode! A little background on Rising since you're playing it next: the development started in house by Kojima's team and was meant to be set between MGS2 and MGS4, telling the story of how Raiden rescued Sunny. But since the studio was having a lot of issues and Kojima didn't want to direct to persue other projects, the development was handed over to Platinum games who changed the setting and continued the story of Raiden after MGS4. The game was not written by Kojima so it's not strictly canon but it does not contraddict the main games in any way so it's up to you to decide if it is.

The collective disdain that rang out in the world when multiple people got to that part, having to hear the voice of the most hated character over the brutal tragic death of a favorite either since 2 or because of 4. Edit: No, no Sunny isn't dead. She's not life dependent on Raiden, that was only in two when she was held captive by the Patriots, Raiden saved her remember? He said forgive me because he knew he wasn't going to come back. Jack saved Sunny himself, then gave her to Snake and Otacon. The latter are her uncles, but Raiden is like an older brother you know? He was saying he wanted forgiveness because he was another person she'd lose.

not sure if it's during the Act 4 Metal Gear boss fight or the final boss fight in Act 5 or both but there's a hidden health recovery feature where if you taunt with the action button Snake will yell "LIQUID!!!" (if it's during Act 4 REX will also roar) but if Liquid also replies with his "SNAKE!!!" taunt, Snake will recover some health but only if both make the taunt so if possible taunt when he does. The game doesn't give you an action button warning so that's why I figure it's not a spoiler

What Olga said in MGS2 is that his nanomachines were linked to the Patriots. They had Sunny and threatened to kill her if Olga didn't ensure Raiden was able to beat solidus because Solidus wanted to destroy the Patriots. That's what all that was about. There wasn't like a link directly between them.

First, love the cosplay. My favorite of your MG series so far. So simple but to me it just works, especially love the Id Card and USB. Perfect! Just wanted to really say (in case you didn't know) you can keep the rations equipped and not have to worry about your health, it will use them automatically. At least, that was the way I used to do it if I wasnt using any other equipment. If that helps you or not. Also you might be surprised at how many different ways or strategies the entire series offers for every task. So much freedom to experiment with, that i was finding new solutions many years later in every game. Keep up the good work!

i still find it amazing that Snake used the original rex prototype to beat Metal Gear Ray, the metal gear made to hunt other Metal Gears. Then again, it was also designed with the assumption it was fighting against the mass produced Metal Gear Rex models, which were medium range weapons platforms. Not the suped up original jumping into its face to engage it in goddamn CQC.

The physical impossibility of Raiden literally stopping the Outer Haven that was about to squash Snake made my lacrimal glands absolutely insane back in 2008. I was a wreck. I never hated Raiden like people used to, so him basically doing the franchise's cyborg ninja thing of defending and sacrificing for the main playable character over and over again in the game (which I admit IS in fact overused, yes) still made sweet mental love to me as a teenage fan of this series.

1:05:07: Perhaps it's due to what she said at the end of the first game when she said this to Snake: "You mustn't allow yourself to be chained to fate". She may have been reffering to herself as well, seeing how she must've contracted cancer as well (perhaps directly implying it from when she talked about gene therapy being able to splice in beneficial genes that are resistant to cancer) and rather than submit to it, she fought it with the nanomachines, only to now accept her fate that she'll never be rid of it and decides to commit Hara-kiri as her acceptance to fate. During the Metal Gears fight, you can press R1 to have REX do some CQC moves. 1:37:14: Kojima's showing his sense of humor again.

Naomi is very confusing to a lot of people who are desperately trying to find meaning in her actions and understand her character, but she was a severely damaged person who probably never fully understood what she was doing herself. I love the pacing in game difficulty. The first two acts have frogs and gekkos but since there is a 3rd faction in play you can "use" them to your favor if you know how to make the game not as challenging. Then in Shadow Moses it's only gekko and robotic drones for the most part, which are very simple to kill and dont continue to trigger a continuos alarm, but since there is no 3rd faction you cannot use that card anymore. I hate that you couldn’t fully experience act4 in better health, but we as viewers really appreciate that you fought through your discomfort and illness just to entertain us. Thank you. :) Also taking a break after MGS4 isn’t the worst idea, it’s the actual end of the series. Rising is an (insane) epilogue/spin off and Peace Walker and MGSV is A LOT to take in delving more into the Big Boss stuff. You could knock out Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 pretty easily if you ever wanted to also. They aren’t very long, but you’ll likely need a sort of guide.

The atonement of one's sins or failures is a common theme during MGS so far. Otacon, Peter Stillman, Sokolov, and now Naomi Hunter mentions it. But it can be very wrong if it leads you to commite suicide, just as Naomi did in this chapter.

Whimsy in order for you to use the Railgun properly, YOU NEED TO FULLY CHARGE IT TO LV.3 MAX!!! You're wasting A LOT of it's ammo, during the Suicide Gekko fight. 44:11 - The reason why your Stinger missle didn't work, that Gekko had a "Millawave Antenna (White Bar Dish)", on top of it's head. That antenna will deflect any type of warhead (guided or undguided), and send it veering straight up and exploding. To get rid of that, you have to shoot it off with an assault rifle or machine gun (if you have a good aim, patience, and not being too trigger happy). Also if that Gekko with the Millawave Antenna is near other Gekkos, it'll also create a jamming wave protection for them. Not very many players know this little detail. And when Sunny said "I've cooked them right", she's not talking about the eggs.

MGR is also perfectly fine to play, story-wise, at any time after you beat 4, and 90% of it works even if you haven't played MGS at alI. I love that you don't need a PHD in Metal Gear lore to enjoy that game.
