In the Neverwinter MMO there's actual radio station in hell hosted by a devil that plays heavy metal and you get to drive an infernal machine and they have radios like a car, and that game is canon so it's in canon in dnd that there's heavy metal in hell and you can listen to it while driving hell cars in hell.

I ran an adventure in Avernus as part of my "Unrest" campaign in which the party met the extended family of the tiefling PC and got to borrow a hellish war car to track down a purple worm with an adamantine treasure vault hidden in its stomach. The driving rules were homebrew, but it was a hell of a good time.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of machinery in D&D. It’s part of the reason why Gond is one of my favorite deities…The Wondermaker encourages creative building; but doesn’t institute solid morality for their use. I like the idea of an Artificer / Wizard who is fascinated by arcane machinery / constructs. The Chultan peninsula of Lantan is known for the native gnomes creating wondrous constructs; notably the nimblewrights (swashbuckling robots), as well as firearms that use black powder. Bahamut has flying constructs that tend to sacred dragon temples; and spray gas that incapacitates trespassers. Duregar are known for their (occasionally horrifying) constructs & advanced weaponry. Evidently, giant rune magic has also been known to create constructed creatures…notably, a giant robot (even for them) that shoots lasers. And, the presence of infernal engines begs the question: is there a celestial equivalent? Exalted engines?

I came up with an idea once for a homebrew familiar for a Cleric of Pelor. It was pretty much a mixture of the Golden Pelydryn (aka the "bauble") from _The Chronicles of Prydain_ and the Snitch from Harry Potter. The idea was that it would be found during a Modron March, and believed to be an aberrant construct (primarily because the Modrons were hunting it during the March), but then later revealed to be from Celestia.

Yes there are some constructs for celestials too I forgot the name but one of em has a large eye in a suit of armor and there's an entire realm of mechanical things called modrons I think and there's also a thing called a cadaver or something similar that cleans up war fields by impaling corpses and things onto its back

@catdragon1313 the mishap tables allowed for a moment where a single fireball cause 2 cars to flip over and fall off a bridge to their deaths. I think about it every day. I have started actively putting way more vehicle/mounted combat sequences into my games ever since then and I highly recommend it.

Welp, both dragons and demons are capable of entirely wiping out humanoids, if they wanted to - their magic is on entirely different level. My justification is that both need humanoids to fulfill Draconic Prophecies, in order to free or keep binding demons. Once this standstill is resolved, humanoids are screwed, regardless of the winner.

In my DiA campaign, my players got their hands on a demon grinder that they tricked out with the golden armour. So I did a bit of colouring on the artwork, slapped on a decal, and they named it Nom Chompsky. They rode that thing right into the heart of the Blood War and ran over Baphomet with it. Good times!

bought the special edition of BG:DIA when it 1st dropped before I bough the PHB or DMG bc the cover was so metal (lost it in a hurricane but that's another story). I used these when my party had to cross Hades because Hades is just a big empty barren plain anyway so I figured it might as well be mad max. They got attacked by motorcycle ghouls because ghouls kinda look like warboys. That was a good adventure. Also I believe the book says Devil's Rides have a speed of 12 miles per hour or 288 miles per day.

My first thought when I heard that these things are powered by soul coins, was to create the Infernal Tibbe infused with the truly immortal soul of Old Jeremiah. This key works the same way as the Infernal Coins do, with two main differences. One, the soul inside is not destroyed, making it a limitless power source. And two, as it's a key and not a coin, you can freely take it out of the vehicle to use on another.

Given the relative popularity of Final Fantasy, I always find it a little weird that magitek machines and the like weren't more prominent in earlier editions of D&D core materials like 3.5 and 4. 3.5 had a single page in the DMG that featured some generic firearms stats. Meanwhile you can't swing a drunk Moogle in most Final Fantasy games without hitting some kind of either magical or mundane technology that stretches beyond the Tolkien fantasy. Which even Tolkien touches on a bit because LOTR is a WWI allegory...

I was in a big one of these in my DoA campaign. My skeletons worked the weapons and that turned 2 third level spell slots into an average of 108 damage a round that lasted all day. It was insane.

Actually 120 feet per turn means 120 feet over 6 seconds, not 1 second. So it'll be much slower than 80 mph, even if it dashed.

In all seriousness, I think you could do with having alternative fuel sources for your war rigs. Both because the idea of destroying a person's immortal soul to run a car is existentially uncomfortable (not to mention counter to the interests of devils, since you need those souls), and because you could get more interesting with it. Like, that idea of pumping the engine full of demon ichor to make it go faster could just be expanded to make it the fuel source. You have to hunt demons to keep the vehicle running, which seems like an incentive structure devils would encourage. Or how about a vehicle that uses blood as fuel (I'll sidestep the Ultrakill reference, and say it's like the 2017 TV series Blood Drive). I already had the idea a while back of an industrial civilization run by vampires, whose artifice runs off blood. So have a blood-powered car would be a logical extension of that. You can even mimic the scene from Mad Max: Fury Road, where Max is strapped to the roof of a car, attached to an IV that slowly bleeds him. Except instead of keeping the driver alive, it fuels the car. Other places might create their own fuel sources. Like a Fey carriage literally running on dreams (stolen from sleeping people). A celestial vehicle that runs on prayers. Or some batshit machine with a furnace that burns Wyrdstone (solidified Chaos energy) like coal. Finally, I had an idea a while back for a post-apoc fantasy setting, where the world pre-apocalypse mastered using a kind of magical oil ("Wurm Crude") secreted by Violet Worms (the Purple Worm's bigger, more magical cousin) as fuel. With the byproduct being a magically charged exhaust, that slowly accumulated in the air until wild magic started to become a fixture of the climate. Leading inevitably to magical disasters, like firestorms, mists that create nightmares and illusions, rains of frogs and acid and accelerated aging. All at random. And naturally, the survivors insist on continuing to tap Wurm Crude wells to keep their rides running, because the Violet Worms didn't go anywhere.

Sad news, you said the bike does 120ft per turn which is 80 miles an hour. I believe in yours maths you didn't account for a round being 6 seconds, and treated it like it was 1 second. The motorbike goes a cosy 12 miles per hour. A good rule of thumb is that feet per round to miles per hour is a about 10 times lower. 30ft is 3mph, 150ft is 15mph etc. Next time you're on a treadmill, set it to 3mph or 6mph to get the D&D movement and dashing experience.
