Mabye go for a crisp apple scent for the haunt, it's a great fall scent that is noticeable, smells great, but is used less often than pumpkin spice. I feel like Freddy Krueger would be the best because he's very skilled with his claws and has a very dark imagination

you guys are such fun! Nice to see people having fun making stuff...and I did learn something too! Thanks a bunch and I will look for other projects:) I have also used for smaller projects the outside Spackle compound for a coating..seems to work great and has the sand texture that adds great base for rocks etc...:) Of course it is rather expensive, but all I knew about at the time...now that I have the flexible concrete stuff will give that a try, the only problem is when it cracks...which can be a problem for nature centre sets that have to be kid proof...you know how that is! Cheers!

Well, clearly Freddie would win. He would be able to carve more intricate designs with his claws. Michael Meyers could maybe do a good job, but he would be severely limited with his knife. Great video, and thank you for sharing your expertise and great humour! I don't have the space or the materials to make these, but after seeing how much fun you both had making these, I so want to! Oh, and Dexter would carve up some interesting pumpkins, but as they'd end up in pieces inside bin bags in the sea (plus I've just remembered that was a TV series - duh), maybe Chucky with anything sharp would carve up some interestingly weird gourds. Baron Frankenstein would add bits of other flora and/or fauna and too many stalks, so he'd make some odd 'kins too. Oh, please make a Franken-pumpkin!!

We got ours off of Craigslist. I would check there first. People are either giving it away in the "Free" section or they have blocks for sale. Next I would look at online retailers. We have a local place called Foam Mart. You may have something in your area that has different available blocks. Last you can make your own by buying the 4x8 sheets and glueing (Great Stuff works the best) sections together to create the sizes you need
