The Vauxhall Insignia has better colours than that unattractive white paint in the video. The Lava Red for example is, in my opinion, the best looking Insignia colour of them all. And it only costs an extra £285 (same as that white). The Insignia will look even much better if you go for the VX Line spec and then add the optional £1,295 IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights. It's just a shame that in this video, a low spec Insignia was compared to high spec opponents. Both the Mazda 6 and Peugeot 508 featured in this video are the ranging topping models while the Insignia is not. It still won the comparison nonetheless. It deserved it, because the Insignia is a very good car.

Put it simply, he picked the worst car. Before PSA bought Opel/Vauxhall, they wanted to move their 508 platform to the Insignia platform for cost sharing. They paid a visit Opel/Vauxhall HQ to find out about the viability. Just that one visit was enough to convince them otherwise. They found an aging platform that was too heavy, not electric ready and was going to take them backwards emissionwisely. They went back and decided to rebuild the 508. The Mazda has the worst diesel engine ever.

I'd buy the Mazda all day long. After having a Mazda6 2.2 deisel ts2, I'd go for another. I did 237,000 miles on mine with the original clutch, and its still going. Still original Turbo and gearbox, dpf etc. Its been brilliant.!

The problem of the estate is the impossibility to get back seats with 40:20:40 split, nor the hole through the armrest, which is a pity. Also, You can't get a manual gearbox with a 2.5 petrol engine. :(

I don't understand, all the French motor journalists who reviewed the 508 agree on one thing: the 508 is most dynamic to drive, having compared it to "rivals" such as the 3 series, A5 sportback A4 etc.. I took the Mazda in soul crystal , hands down the best paint, in the evening and in the wet it just shimmers. Got the petrol sport estate, loads of room, awesome stereo, love the heads up, radar cruise and lane assist even though I expected to hate it. Can rev it to red line all you want, not the most powerful with 165 but boy is it enthusiastic, wouldn't be seen dead in any Vauxhall since the astra GTE.
@JJ-J5 жыл бұрын
I think you are wrong. Although the Insignia seems your best choice, I guarantee you that the Mazda will be by far the best quality for money you get in this class and will have the highest trade-in price in 3-4 years. Although the Peugeot looks very good, it will probably break down within a year or two. The Insignia with its grumpy engine devaluates most certainly quicker then the other two cars. So the conclusion must be that the Mazda is the best choice when you take all the above in consideration.
@justrandomthings3195 жыл бұрын
