The Gambler 500 was in town this weekend, and as always, it led to some interesting calls! This @Jeep Cherokee got a little too close to the soft edge of the road and ended up going off the side. It rolled 3 times before stopping when it hit a tree, and amazingly the driver walked away with only a couple of scrapes and bruises. So we took the @ford 4x4 wrecker up and got creative with some rigging on the steep ground to get it pulled back onto the road, and then towed down the mountain to the gas station

Thanks for the recovery of one of our Gambler family. Too bad you cut out the parts where you were rude to the drivers also. It would only be fair. These guys are rarely dicks. These two have rescued more people, driven more miles, cleaned up for more years than you could possibly know. Everyone has off days, including you. Its a dick move to put tgem on blast. And i dont see the part where you chewed Seths ass either. Another amazing person, doung amazing things with no intent of glory. Way to really stir up shit instead of caring.
@CaseyLaDelle
@CaseyLaDelle 9 ай бұрын
Oh shut up. I was not rude to them before this, but I and absolutely did TELL them to back down to an intersection and that we were NOT going to attempt to pass on that section of the road where they were trying to pull to the side. And I didn’t give them any option about that, because they were not getting any option about that. For everyone’s safety, that’s what we were doing, end of story. If that hurt their sensitive little feeling…. Too. Fucking. Bad. But then, this fucking moron that some of you want to worship so much couldn’t even keep his car on the road, tried to get to the side where I told him not to, and drove off the edge putting himself and his passenger in extreme danger for no reason. So yeah, at that point I absolutely am pissed off and am not going to sugar coat anything. But I’m also still going to help him out of the situation he put himself in. That is until he decides to run his mouth on top of it. At that point, fuck that idiot, he can stay there. As far as this Seth person you’re talking about, I have no idea who that even is. So no, I didn’t chew his ass. I also find it funny that so many of you Gamblers are jumping all over me saying that all these MANY different witnesses saw me being so rude before he backed off the edge. Well guess what…. There were only three people there at that point. The nun, his passenger, and the driver of the car ahead of him. So anyone else who told you they saw any part of the initial interaction is a dirty fucking liar. End of story. If you want to think I’m an asshole, hate me, talk shit about me, or anything else, because I was “mean” to someone who’s stupid decisions put himself and his passengers lives at risk…. Good! Have at it! Your opinions mean absolutely nothing to me!

@CaseyLaDelle I actually thanked you. Then talked about your behavior, not your character. Never talked shit about you, only here, to you. Never even called you names. I get it. Been in situations where I knew I was the one on the side of safety, been the one who felt I had to take control. However it is in extremely poor taste and yes a dick move to put people on blast to get more "atta boys" on your channel. Would you want someone to tailor their story to do that to you? Just putting it out there... no need to justify your attitude or behavior. And if other peoples opinions don't matter then why comment? Why tell your story again? Just food for thought
@CaseyLaDelle
@CaseyLaDelle 9 ай бұрын
@@user-wh5qy3ou4t here’s where I have a problem with you and all the other morons jumping all over this for me. You are saying that I “tailored the story” or “made it look like”…. And that is straight up bullshit. What happened is what you saw. Don’t like it, too fucking bad. And as far as whether how this nun clown feels about it…. He saw the camera there and still decided to mouth off. If he didn’t want to look like a dumbass on camera, he could have simply kept his mouth shut and let me pull him out, or told me that he didn’t need my help. He CHOSE to mouth off in front of a camera, so no, I don’t care one bit about “making him look like…” anything. I film my work, and this is part of what happened on this job.

And yes, the rules are very simple…. Get an attitude, get f#cked. I told them not to even try getting to the edge of the road to pass, and to back down to the intersection where it was safe. And there was absolutely no way I was going to put my 11k pound truck that was towing a 5k pound Jeep on the edge to go around them. This clown could not even come close to backing up straight, and had no business being on a road like that with such little driving skills. He then picked WAY too small of a turnout like I told him NOT to do, and back off the edge of a massive drop. They already got an attitude with me when I asked them to back up in the first place, and he decided to get even more of an attitude while I was getting out the gear to pull him back on the road. So to put it simply, f#ck’em. If he’s not that concerned about the situation he’s in, neither am I.

I passed a car stuck in the sand in the middle of the path to the beach, I offered to pull him back onto solid ground about 10 feet behind his car, he was rude to me so I drove by him. 2 hours later we drove back by him still stuck there and I just waved and continued on. There were only 2 vehicles an that path that day besides the stuck car, myself and the other vehicle that had no recovery gear, it took us about an hour to get to where we saw the towing company heading his way. @outlawbillionairez9780 my favorite place to ride/wheel, camp is Diamond Mill 💎 Tillamook State Forest Oregon Coast Mountain Range pretty much straight up & down. Several years ago a couple campers didn't return from a late night drive.they were found several days later by one of the searchers walking. It's on the internet they were popular bar tenders. I've had some close calls and winched a couple quads out. Pay attention!!

@calholli
@calholli 9 ай бұрын
The "complicated" part is doing what is safe. It's not always obvious where the danger may pop up, and you're always thinking ahead, trying to anticipate those dangers that are unknown. Otherwise it's pretty simple, hitch on and pull it up. But the devil is in all the little details. Like him hitching onto that top tree-- it may not have even been necessary, but you don't want to find out that you needed it, after you rolled your own rig down the hill. Anticipating every step is the real hard part... It's the same way for me when building a house. When I read the blueprints and need to order all the lumber, etc.. I have to build the entire house in my head several times to know what is coming and know what I need to have there on site, and hopefully not miss anything that is going to stop us from working. Anticipation can be exhausting-- because I guarantee you that he played out this job many times in his head, thinking of every little detail and what would work best-- What is the least risky-- what is the fastest-- what is the least complicated and what tools he needs to bring with him on each climb, etc. and there is always compromises you can make, like taking a little more risk to get something done twice as fast, etc. People don't' see all that "thinking" that is going on, but it takes a lot of energy when you're problem solving and can be draining, because you're constantly calculating probabilities and making consequential decisions on the fly. So that can make you think twice about things and double check, and recheck again, etc. That's why it's such a relief when the job is done, because you can turn all that off and put all that responsibility behind you now.... until the next one.

@@icek9a Bullhocky. John didn't listen to a thing he was told and wanted to do things his way. He got stuck trying to give Casey room in a place he was told was to unstable and dangerous. He was berated for not listening and doing the safe thing which was to back down to a larger area like the other people he was with. And no this video didn't include all the conversation, Casey already stated he had asked the group to back up because it was unsafe to pass there. Doable and safe are not the same things. Maybe John should have considered Casey was driving a tow truck, with a jeep behind him and that's a hell of a thing to try to get down those roads. John was a tool.

John drove all the way from Spokane to do this run. The fellow does every one of these gambler runs in 90s sedans. He may have been cranky, but we all know him to be the best tof us. He collects more trash on these runs than most people, piling it high on his car and he sends it hard. He goes on daily walks with his elderly dog and cleans up the parks and trails where he lives. DAILY. There are multiple people who saw this interaction and all of them agree it was NOT John who started off being rude, he only replied in kind. Props to Casey for rescuing our friends vehicle, but it's no excuse to be a jerk.

Casey, you kept your cool far better than I would have in that situation with the idiot going off the road. I've been on some sketchy roads and ran into a rig being rescued, and there was never any doubt in my mind that I was the one that needed to get myself and my rig out of the way because the other rig already had enough to deal with. If he wasn't smart enough or good enough to be able to back his rig to a point of safety, then HE was the one that needed a smaller rig, not you.
