They're certainly not fast stock.. my friend's 1.8 ran a high 8 to 60
@Spocker932 жыл бұрын
The 1.8L NAs and NB aren't that slow, but the gearing forces a shift to 3rd gear to get to 60 with everything being stock. So if 0-60 is the number you're looking at, then they seem a bit slower than they really are. I'm not implying that they're fast, but rather that 1st and 2nd gear pulls are quicker than you might expect.
@dylanthomas97772 жыл бұрын
@@CashedOutCars I'm so confused. I have a basically stock 04 Nb that I've gotten a verified 7.3s 0-60 with the draggy... What's the difference? Besides power, I have the 5 speed so gearing should be the exact same.
@CashedOutCars2 жыл бұрын
Location, tires, driver, etc. also NBs have 4.3 rear ends which is advantageous, I have a 3.9 in this now. Also youve got a VVT which makes more power and better torque throughout the power band than a 1.6

Shouldnt 9 psi be making a bit more horsepower? Could it be the intercooler, injectors or the self tune?
@CashedOutCars3 жыл бұрын
A stock 1,6 is just over 100 whp, with 9 psi (9/14) = .64 extra atmospheric pressure * 100 whp = about 165 whp. That 160-180 whp seems very reasonable, IATs are good, injectors have plenty of room left but the fuel pump doesn’t, and the tune is conservative but still pretty good. If it were a 1.8 it’d make a good bit more as well as spool quicker

was this with the stock rear end (driveshaft/diff/axles) or was it the 1.8 parts?

Stock internals 1.6L, rear end was upgraded to a 1.8 rear end. I'd estimate about 170 WHP at this 9 PSI, I didn't dyno it though. I have a newer video of it at 14 PSI, I'd estimate about 200 WHP for that

I once had a 93 that was red under the black spray paint the guy before me put on. You own 93 and 96, which is better to drive? I had a friend who had a 94 when I had the 93, I don't know if the 1.8 liter is worth the heavier weight in the newer NA miatas. I dream of trying to make a miata super light, then add power, so the 96 would have all the crash protection ( weight). However, some of that extra weight in the 96 is making that 96 handle better/ be stiffer, than a 93. What's your experience in this regard? And when are you going to sell me your 93? Hahaha( kidding on selling, I'm not ready quite yet🙂)
@My68Tempest3 жыл бұрын
The 93 is an automatic and my daily go to work car. The 96 is a stick and I bought from a coworker for $300. It needs some work so I haven't been able to drive it yet but it's all there. It fires up with low compression on cylinder 4 the hot one. I will be working on it soon and at least drive around in my front yard a bit
@hebrews11vs53 жыл бұрын
@@My68Tempest yuck on account of it being automatic. But sounds like a great project to get the 96 going. I wish you best of luck. @CashedOutCars3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say since I’ve never dynoed it (virtual or real) on this tune / boost level, but I’d estimate 160-180 wheel horsepower. It’s a pretty conservative tune still. I had a very hard time launching it with this diff and tire setup and a hard time quickly shifting to 2nd
