In the United States this is a crime punishable by up to ten years in prison AND a fine. It is legally termed "Tampering With a Consumer Product." Basically the law says that if you do anything to a product which could result in bodily harm to another person (i.e. They get sick from ingesting your body fluids) or could do serious harm to a business (Nobody wants to buy that product anymore because they saw someone lick one) then you have committed a an offense under Federal law.
@xRagingDragon04x5 жыл бұрын
As a society we need to work as a team, relying on others for things that you can't do yourself, for a price. So when you buy groceries or fast food, you expect and trust other people to handle your food with the outmost respect and care that you would personally do for yourself. When that trust and respect are gone is when society begins crumbling. If we can't trust others then what is the point in the system? I'm all for fun and having a good time, but lately I feel that these viral trends are hurting the trust we have for one another. Its obviously my responsibility to look after myself to make sure anything I ingest is relatively safe... but I shouldn't have to constantly watch my back for a service I'm paying for :/
@Zayindjejfj5 жыл бұрын
Exactly. That's what the point of society and civilization was for. You didn't need to constantly look over your shoulder and second guess every single thing. You knew you could trust the food that you PAYED for. Everyone lived peacefully and was difficult to conquer because everyone worked for the common good.

Im an actual professional cook with 10 years experience from various different restaurants and cafes. was even a sous chef for a while, and Im in the US. let me tell ya, no kitchen is as clean as you'd hope they are, and the majority of cooks that work back there really arent the most sanitary people. the reason why nobody ever gets sick is because the rules for whats actually passable to sell is a lot more lax than you'd expect and what people dont know really doesnt hurt them. if the average customer saw what it actually looks like back there, they'd never eat at restaurants ever again. as long as you dont sell raw food or things that have been on the floor, its basically fine.

humans are kinda boring to look at and don't have many fancy natural abilities because most of our upgrades and evolution went into stuff that's under the hood. as long as it's properly cooked and digestible, we can eat basically anything. so, a modicum of cleanliness is usually sufficient to keep the majority of people healthy, you know, wipe down the plates with water and soap between uses, don't mix raw meat and anything else, you're probably fine.
