Marty, I just discovered you on youtube a couple of weeks ago. I would like to say, not only are you an excellent musician, but also a tremendous teacher. So often, no matter what field of study you are talking about, you do not find that combination in one person. The ability to know this information and the ability to convey that information to another human being in a clear, straight forward, simple manner is a unique ability that not a lot of people possess. I am in the process of taking your theory classes and for once in my life this is all starting to make sense. I am still a babe in the woods, but I cannot thank you enough for all your videos. I now have an annual subscription to your web site. Please keep doing what you do. You have a unique ability. Thanks, Dennis James

@hostyle0 What crawled up your ass? 😂 It's funny you think he's not a "good guitar player", yet you need chord diagrams (in addition to Marty's explanation of finger placements) to follow along with all the most basic guitar chords in the book. Based on your comment history, it looks like you simply enjoy watching Marty's videos to criticize them - I guess some people really just have nothing better to do with their time. 🤷🏻♀️ You should probably stop to "avoid embarrassment".

Never played in my life. 2-weeks ago, at the age of 56, I bought a Yamaha acoustic electric 820. I spent the first two days learning how to finger pick. The next two days learning basic cords like the back of my hand. Toughened my fingers, and now I’m playing because of you, and I sound good. I know I have along way to go, but cannot believe how I am able to play!

Cat Stevens - yay! Seems like he' s everyone's secret influence - I also picked up guitar because of him and his acoustic work. Any of his songbook would be great - especially the Mona Bone Jakon, Teaser, and Tillerman albums. Did he do the piano work on his albums .. because it is all great classic songwriting. Thanks for the lessons.

Marty you're the best. Ever since I was a young teenager (and that was a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away), I have always had a guitar. First one was really crappy and I didn't learn much. Got a better one after my son showed interest in learning. And now I have a BC Rich 6 string acoustic, an AEW51 Ibanez electric acoustic, An early Jean Larrivee 12 string acoustic and a Liberty FB100-B Custom Resonator. Now that I am retired at the young age of 62 I have a ton of time to learn, and I am, thanks to you! Just one thing I'd like to see in your tutorials. After going through the chords and the runs, if you would play the complete song (one verse and once through the chorus) so we can put it all together it would really help. Thanks for sharing your incredible talent with us.

I've been a fan of yours for a few years now and I thank you so much for all your videos and lessons, really have helped me. I am sorry that I am asking for non-Jimi songs, I want to ask you for songs from two of the most underrated records in rock history, one by Steely Dan "Can't Buy a Thrill", if you could please teach some of the stuff that's going on there particularly on Do It Again and Reelin' In The Years, those are some of the best guitar solos ever recorded. And also, a personal favorite, I'd love to see you do some songs out The Pretenders "Learning To Crawl", like Middle of The Road and pretty much the whole album, LOL.... so there ya go. I look forward to it. And thanks a million again!!
