Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft

4 жыл бұрын

Struck with hunger and stuck with no cooking tools, the bushcraft pair catch and cook trout on the shores of Grizzly Lake.
There's only one rule for the 30 Day Survival Challenge: If you want to eat, you got to Catch and Cook it.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Hi Greg! I'm a Canadian outdoorsman living indoors in Hong Kong. Every time I watch your videos my wife comes in and says, "He sounds like home!" Thanks for bringing Canada to us here in the big city! Watching and loving every episode.

I’ve noticed that Greg, even when he thinks he is complaining, he still remains a positive person through out. I would have screamed at the wind nine times by now. Shook my fist at the damn stick and thrown rock or two by this point. You prove that the biggest tool to carry with you at all times is a positive attitude. Again Greg, you teach me something new with each video.

You're an amazing movie maker, and I I really love the way you are talking to us through the camera,.... You are an amazing story teller, with an awesome radio voice, I am so happy to speak and understand decently English, for I lived for 7 good years in western Massachusetts, for it enables me to understand you, even if I miss a few things , I can just rewind a little bit, and again,if needed , until I get it. Thanks, thanks à lot man, for inspiration, for your goodness, your a true person.

Anyways, my bet is that mountain weights about like a feather compared to your greatness Greg! You know what, that might be shocking, but that is what I am thinking right now, is that Jesus seems a bit.. Old fashioned, left behind, I don't know the English word.... But I think you're an up to date inspirational person,... I mean you show us a way that is so very wonderfull buddy. Thanks.

I really enjoy watching!!! I'm a first nation from ontario and my uncle lived the lifestyle here. My grandfather built an off the grid house and we've learned how to make due with what we had. One of my favorite things to eat during the hard times was pemican. Smoked/dried fish beaten till it was almost like a powder, dried blueberries and wild strawberries, brown sugar, salt and other dehydrated vegetation. Perfect for the days you get skunked or buried for the winter months. Keeps very well for a long time.

Oh and by the way Bears don't go out looking for people to eat they're scared of us. They had rather go eat their berries and vegetation with the fish head or anything that you put in the ground will help the plants and trees grow due to the nutrients in the head or the body of the fish there for helping the Bears out so they can have better foraged Goods

What a view when you were fishing, the view of the mountain in the background. I imagine lying there with a rod and necessary bait etc some nice cosy camping gear and a fat bag of the finest grass and I’d be in heaven.
