She will survive. Had that happen and then shoot the same deer a week later. They are pretty resilient. Always good video and editing. Stoked every time I see one of your videos pop up! We always learn something and you put in the ups and the downs of hunting.

what's crazy is that she went down in the first place. Just adrenaline should have gotten her a couple hundred yds out of there before stopping to lick a wound.

That happened to me last year with a doe, during muzzleloader season. Never did find her. Bummer, but it happens. Tjanks for the video!

I shot a nice buck in muzzleloader season this year that went about 10 yards before he stopped. While stopped, I watch blood just pour out of his lower left side just above the heart. I definitely hit a main artery. It was like a water hose was turned on and you could tell when his heart pumped because it would surge and then let off. He went another 10 yards before crashing. I thought he was done for. A few minutes later, he got up and stumbled another couple of yards before crashing again. They can be pretty resilient creatures sometimes.

Man this is like watching myself hunt in Nov 2019. Shooting my Bear Species bow out of my Summit Viper SD on public land in OK. Filmed myself with my cell phone. After checking my cam footage and zooming in on still shots...turns out i flanked her in the soft flesh low and behind that front shoulder. Had good blood, then it just ran out. The way she wheeled and run off tells me the same thing happened to you. Now I make sure i aim farther back on purpose to hit both lungs. Tough loss but a really great video here.

Did the same thing on a Nice 8 pt. 2 weeks ago been bummed out ever since. I cut him almost the Same Shot, just on his right side. He bedded 3 times then blood trail just stopped. I felt your pain when you showed the Slow Motion footage.

This is coming from a guy who has shoot more foam than deer. Maybe your bow grip could use some work, like index, middle, and thumb only used to stabilize the bow. It looked like all five fingers may have generated some torque in the shoot. Love the vids and stay on em!

@@trinkladd do most of my deer. But this one wasn’t miles from the road like most of mine are. I never see many hunters cause most are to lazy to go where I do or afraid of the dark. I hunt only game lands. That was one deer I got on private so I didn’t gut it on their land, and the wife was with me so was going to do it later, and where the top of the head was gone and the brain missing I never thought it would get up it took a 30 /06 to the head I needed as much meat as I could get off it. You never know what can happen when dealing with live wild animals. After over 40 years in the woods I’ve saw a lot happen god bless you all. Be safe guys

Love the channel Cat, just one question? Why continue to take multiple big does when it’s obvious they still have their young from the spring? Why not shoot a spike or fork horn and let those raising does get the smaller ones up to where they have a good chance of making it. We have a terrible problem with coyotes here and that small younger deer wouldn’t stand a chance. Just curious. 🤙🏼

Two things 1) At 4:07-4:10 did anyone else see the solid buck on the right half of the screen behind that brush?! 2) I have had this same thing happen to me during shotgun season when I was young. I hit a doe high above the vitals in the "dead zone" she dropped, flopped around a bit and then took off again. Never found her.
