If he was a nice guy then why was he so mean to Dack Rambo and Donna Reed. Maybe both actors did not belong on Dallas, but still he had no right to disrespect them.

My husband is a junior and called J.R., I'm Cristen and no one has said anything to us about this ever. I would have thought we'd get a comment at least once in the 21 years we've been married because it was such a big deal. We found out Kristin shot J.R. a couple years ago when I was binging Dallas for no reason and couldn't believe that at the very least our parents didn't mention it when we first got together 🤷🏽♀️

I was 10 back then, saw Dallas episodes here and there somehow.....my mother watched it I guess. And she always murmured something about JR being like my dad. My folks' marriage wasn't a good one and my dad had his share of affairs so to speak. Most of this I learned at a later age. Somehow they stayed together until 2002 or something. Seeing the JR character always makes me think of this. So I got my share of the Dallas phenomenon and especially 'Who shot JR Ewing'. I remember being at my grandparents house and a copy of the Mad magazine was lying around with that clown on the cover saying something like 'When I shoot him he stays dead with a frightened JR there too 🤣. Never saw all episodes though....maybe not even all were broadcasted here in the Netherlands. Currently I'm watching the show on dvd and loving it. Hagman is so perfect....that devious smile, so great 🤣. And I have as much a crush on Victoria Principal as back then....what a woman. 😁 I remember from back then the Sue Ellen character was a bit unsettling to me, not my favorite or something. Now I see Linda Gray played a great character....all these little mannerisms, the nervous hands/fingers, uncertainty.....she did one hell of a job playing Sue Ellen.

In the UK, Dallas mania was even bigger. Nearly half the population watched JR being shot and it was the biggest talking point of the summer over here about who the shooter was. It made a change from talk of hyper inflation, the recession and strikes that otherwise dominated the news. Also Larry Hagman was mobbed like a rock star when he visited London in 1980.

Obviously an intern or novice researcher at CBS put the clips together for this item and is clueless about the characters. The 'Who shot JR reveal' was in Season 4. Katherine Wentworth (Pam and Cliff 's half sister) doesn't feature in Dallas until Season 5 and in fact the clip shown with her and JR is in Season 7.
