Well, from you I learned something new. I was not aware that an electric kiln could take a gas flame. The results of your ceramics are very good.

Thank you for your comment. In Japan, reduction firing is also performed in electric kilns. The reduction is a little different from gas kilns and kerosene kilns, but it is baked beautifully.
Thank you for your great commitment and clarity in your explanations. ...is it true that if you modify an electric oven by adding a gas burner, the electrical part can be damaged ?

Thank you for your comment. I think it is better to stop amateurs from remodeling electric kilns. Some heating wires are vulnerable to reduction firing, so I think it depends on the specifications of the kiln used. Please consult a kiln expert.

Reduction atmosphere will damage your elements, you will need to use heavy gauge kantal wires for better reliability. and it is important to alternate between reduction fire and oxidation fire, to keep the elements coated with oxide to help increase elements life span.

The heating wire of my kiln is called Pyromax, and it was said that it is relatively resistant to reducing flames. I don't know the details because it is a kiln member, but I think that the reduction firing puts more load on the heating wire.

@@kiraku-pottery pyromax is the best. And yes reduction erode the elements. But reduction fire produce beautifull results especially in a high fire.
