Yeah, there's definitely something more going on here. On the ground, they just swarm like ants and attack with whatever natural weapons they're born with, but their eggs have been found on dozens of worlds, many with no spacefaring natives or visits by such. The planet with the primitive native civilization was visited by a Starfleet crew, but that was only because they'd been stranded there and certainly hadn't brought the eggs themselves. Unless the Drantzuli can teleport between star systems Necron-style, there must be some other way their eggs have been spread so widely across the sector. Fortunately, we'll probably find out more about them later today.

I always wonder about Kumaarke's indignant assumption here. 'Are you here to bomb us or defeat this swarm?" Ummm? Why not both Kum? I mean they haven't exactly been conservative in their wiping out of biospheres up until this point? Also Hale raises an interesting point that seems to get sidestepped around a lot. "Why didn't the scanners pick this up?" Well because the Hur'q would appear to be a non organic life form. Probably some sort of Silicate based. Remember they eat EVERYTHING. Rack, Metal, etc. A certain Klingon Weapon that wounded an Iconian was made from one of these things. So assuming they are a not entirely organic life form... what makes the Zenkethi think their Protomater Bombs are doing anything to the eggs? The bombs wipe out all Organic Life. Do the Hur'q/Drantzuli count as such?
