@@whocareseh1it’s a very narrow perception you have of her. Although I do know what you mean I too saw her cruel, stubborn and all else but i did open my mind on the fact that she did reach out for help rather than just getting rid of the dog which she could have without contacting Cesar. But the fact that she did goes to show that she does care so let’s not be too judgmental. I saw your other comments to others, judging her and her cruelty and ignorance and all of that and you’re right she was ignorant and probably a bit selfish. But keep in mind these things do reflect back on us when we judge others. Just keep that in mind. But if an old dog can learn new tricks… so can you.

Well, I don’t really blame the owners for not checking his teeth. That’s something that can be very easy to forget about even when you own a pet. I volunteer at an AZA accredited zoo and the zookeepers told me that the easiest way to know if there is something wrong in the mouth of an animal is if they are chewing funny or not eating at all.

Great story. Would it be possible to do a video about teeth care for dogs? I recently asked for an estimate from my vet to clean my dog’s teeth. It was over $500 plus extra for extractions. Most well meaning pet owners want to do the best for their pets but vet bills have skyrocketed.

I lived in constant pain as a kid from the moment my permanent teeth came in to the moment I had them pulled. I was born with a condition that was genetic that basically your enamel made it more susceptible to cavities and some root problem. I have no idea what it's called I don't remember this was probably 35 years ago. The dentist hated to pull my teeth at my age because I was just a little kid so he tried to save them. For about 15 years, I had 30 root canals, multiple pulls, it began to affect my jaw, I couldn't eat anything but yogurt and Salisbury steak (still can't eat that to this day). I was sick all the time, on pain meds, and I was getting sicker. Finally everyone gave up and at 19 I had them all pulled. I can't tell you how wonderful I felt. For the first time I can remember as I was so young when this started it was all I remember, I was not in pain. I wasnt getting sick. I wasn't exhausted all the time bc I'd be up all night pacing bc of the pain. And the headaches! There is no pain meds or otc that touched it. It's a different pain. I've never missed my teeth, love my dentures. My dentist said never again would try to save anyone's teeth like that and prolong suffering. This would have been the late 70s, 80s and early 90s. Absolutely know how this dog felt. Cesar saved this dog in many ways bc teeth decay and dental disease is no joke. It will kill you, whatever species you are.

Something to consider with a fear reactive dog is that many will feel surrounded, overcrowded, or threatened if you bend over them to pet them, feed them, etc, which will elicit the reaction. If Ms. Cathy had sat next to the little dog with the food, then opened the corner and let the little dog come to her, she would have gotten a better reaction, more closely to what she was hoping to see. Not only does she need to be able to bring Target into a calm state, she also needs to build trust. Target needs to learn that he can trust her. She shouldn't lean over him but make herself available to him to choose to come to her.

After they smell me, and I get their permission then I pet them. They have a way to let you know not to pet them and I respect them even if the owner tells me is ok to pet them, most of the times they let me know they want to be petted.

I think often Chihuahua’s come off as being agressive when in reality they are simply afraid. They are cute and look so cuddly and people want to treat them like babies which only make things worse. This video is a perfect example of why things occur with Chihuahua’s. They are affectionate but are afraid when we force ourselves on these dogs. In reality the dog is truly telling us, leave me alone. Great video and I want to commend this grandmother who loves her grandson so much she is willing to work theoufh anything if it helps her grandson and his dog. She sees how her grandson’s love of animals is truly his strength and offers stability in his life. Amazing grandmother who wasn’t afraid to say I need to help to learn this for her grandson’s well being. Her grandson needs his dog. This dog truly is a service dog, not a therapy dog, he provides a calming state for his owner, works better then any medication could. This encourages the grandson to take on responsibility and love where it sounds like these are missing in his his own life from his parents . It’s there clear as day his grandmother and his petsgice him strength and love. He truly is responsible to and cares for all animals. Often at 14 yrs old teenagers will forget their duties as a dog owner where this young man cares fur all his pets with great respect and loves his pets. Congratulations to all in this video as all are winners here. I see a future vet here. ❤

Cesar needs to start doing leadership seminars for corporate America. Not kidding, it's not about dogs, it's never been about dogs, all Cesar has always been doing was reading and adjusting human energy! There are so many people struggling with anxiety who don't even know it, dogs always reveal their real energy state by reacting to it a certain way. Cesar could be driving his pack to those seminars and by the way his pack reacts to different people could recommend those people to work on confidence, calmness, leadership, etc. Creating a better work environment for all! I bet it would bring just as much, if not more money than taking care of celebrities and their dogs lol

I acknowledge the kid has been through a lot, but from personal experience with a Chihuahua I think Cesar should have given him a dressing down for SHAMEFUL NEGLECT of the dog’s teeth. It is painfully obvious they were NEVER brushed. We adopted (rescued?) a 10 year old chihuahua whose defective previous owner kept him in a condo, and a crate during the work days while he was out. The poor little guy initially behaved very similar to Target and his breath stunk badly. After a trip to the vet for an overall health check dental work was immediately scheduled. Between the teeth that were already missing and the ones that were in various stages of decay that the vet removed, he only has 7 teeth left now. The vet said he doubted he would have lived longer than another month without the dental work, due to imminent infection plus eating becoming progressively more painful. After a couple days recovering from the dental work he had a completely different disposition and started blending in with our other dogs, instead of defensively acting aggressively towards them. Today he is the happiest, sweetest, most fun loving little senior chihuahua, and loves ripping around in off-leash areas with our other dogs. After the dental work I had fantasies about pulling out all but 7 of the previous owner’s teeth to see how he enjoyed it. It wasn’t the cost of the dental work that had me so pissed off, it was seeing such a happy little guy and knowing that he had been suffering so much for so long due to his previous owner’s DENTAL NEGLECT. It took about 2 months of daily progress with a toothbrush before the little guy got sort of “used to” having his remaining teeth brushed, and he doesn’t really “enjoy” it even after a year and a half. But he doesn’t have that many years left, and I don’t want him to suffer dental pain ever again. People often look at me like I’m on crack when they find out I brush our multiple dogs’ teeth daily. But it’s just part of loving your dog and doing what is necessary to keep them healthy and happy. Would you let your 6 year old kid (or 10 year old) never brush their teeth to the point where they are rotting and falling out? I’m sure Child Protective Services would get involved! Our dogs aren’t “pets” for us, they are “family members”.

I appreciate both Cesar and Victoria Stilwell so much for these shows, I adopted a dog that came with no manual but who acted a lot like Target (but without the toothaches). I used a similar technique, taught her that the word pets meant the hand was going to give her affection and that it was not out there to grab her. It immediately brought her down from that similar tension level. After 5 failed adoptions by people who lacked the understanding that punishment is not the way to handle a stressed out dog, she finally has a forever home and has been with us over 6 years.

What did I learn ? I have learned so much from Ceaser. How to observe my own energy before meeting a new dog. ( I am learning to work through the bodies reaction. I broke up a fight between my dog, while walking outside on leash. When two dogs came tearing down a driveway. ) I really am wanting to work through my fear of dogs I do not know ). I Love dogs all animals. I have always had dogs. I don’t want to live in the past and re create that situation again. Check to see how the body feels. Is the body relaxed? Is my solar plexus tight ? If so take a deep breath until I can really feel that I am relaxed, calm confident. Observe the situation, observe the dogs body language. ( still learning ). Not to be intrusive. To give space. I am also learning more about human behavior, of course mine as well. Thank You Ceaser 💗 as well as the young man and grandma that cared enough to work through this. I also learned the importance of teeth and having cleanings done. Bravo 👏 to everyone ❣️

@marthawelch42892 ай бұрын
I'm an old math major and I keep re-reading your comment on needing just 3 more people to sign up in order to get to 3M subscribers because my old brain is thinking that it's going to take more than 3 wonderful people who love dogs to get to 3M. Here's how we get to an approximation, a "close enough" number to the exact necessary number. First, just a few words about the practices of estimating and rounding. On September 18, 2025 at 4:48 am MST, the number of subscribers for this channel is 2.97M subscribers. This is a sort of a "rounded number" - it's not an exact number. The "real number" is most likely something like 2,974,321 current subscribers but it's easier to work with a number that has fewer numbers. We use these different sorts of rounded off or estimated numbers all the time. Let's say a friend asks you how much money you have in your wallet to see if between the two of you you have enough to buy movie tickets. So you look in your wallet and you see one 5 dollar bill, 3 one dollar bills, one quarter, and many pennies. You probably won't want to count all those darn pennies because they are easy to drop and they always fall into the leaked oil in the parking lot. So you estimate the amount you have to contribute towards the ticket as: $5 + $3+ $.25 + $.10. The 10¢ is a rounded off/estimated number. You go low on the number of pennies so as not to get to the ticket booth thinking you have 25 pennies when you really have fewer than that. Therefore, you can contribute $8.35 towards the movie ticket fund. It's not exact but sometimes it is OK to use some assumptions to present "close enough" information. Wrapping it up: * KZbin presents the number of subscribers for this channel as 2.97M. The exact number is probably something like 2,974,334 but it is "easier" to use rounded off/estimated numbers of 2.97M. * Writing out the number of subscribers given in a "full form" makes solving this word problem easier. Therefore, if Cesar's channel has 2.97M (2,970,000) subscribers how many more people need to subscribe to reach 3M (3,000,000) subscribers? This is solved by subtraction: 3,000,000 minus 2,970,000 equals 30,000 more people who want to learn more about having a great relationship with their dog (and all of their FAMILY) would need to sign up and become subscribers.

He looks just like my beloved little Piggy! He had fear biting issues too, but he was my precious baby, and I miss him every day! ❤

My question here is, if the young man cares so much about Target, why did the dogs teeth get so bad? People are suppose to take care of their pets. Where is.the physical care of the dog? Why does the grandmother have to mold herself to Target? Alot of people get pets for emotional support, if the animal reacts like Target does, and this people have to work through their own emotional problems, how do they get their emotional support from an aggressive animal? Target was biting his grand mother, she should never have had to be tippy toeing around this animal. Sorry. I disagree with you people.

True, but veterinarian dental care is very expensive. Some people can’t afford it. Dogs are expensive.

23:52 "and now there's a bond between us." Dog looked visibly annoyed when she said that... I'm glad things worked out though!
