You have delivered a really excellent review. Thanks. I'm so glad you mentioned the on-road capabilities. The fact is, I think, that an average person looking for an 'Adventure Tourer' will spend a lot (if not most) of their time on tarmac and well-formed gravel, as well as main roads getting to places. Not to mention commuting etc. (I'm in Australia) The CFMoto website describes the 450MT as “versatile adventure touring motorcycle”. So it is not really a rally bike. I think it is so important for safety that an AV bike is capable and reliable when around road traffic. Spilling the bike amongst traffic, or having a collision is the biggest hazard for riders. I need to know 'Is it too Twitchy?' on twisties. I'm in Australia where there are long distances on tarmac between destinations. I'm so glad you also talked about what the bike is like getting around on real world obstacles that a rider might come across when out exploring. There are so many videos of thrill seeking and hard bashing on technical stuff by KZbinrs. (Look at me Mum, look at me.) For those who want to 'rip up the landscape' there are plenty of Enduros, Cross-Sport and Rally bikes. Also, thanks for discussing the seat comfort. That is really important. I am a mature returning rider looking for an all-purpose bike that's not heavy. A 450 twin seems like the sweet spot. I've subscribed. I hope one day you can find a way to assess and compare the road capabilities of dual purpose bikes for us 'normal' riders who want to explore. Best wishes and safe riding.

@@lawrieyoutube4375 I agree when I did the Adventure Bike thing I wished I had a dirt bike so I could go off road. For sensible people a true adventure bike must be as small and as light as possible it must be just powerful enough to travel at highway speeds but light enough to be used off road and I think these guys may have nailed it!
@kevinarmstrong4782 ай бұрын
@@lawrieyoutube4375 it’s the hardest thing - like everyone else I spend most of my time on road so I buy a bigger bike with better road manners which is almost impossible to ride off road and two big expensive and heavy to make mistakes on. So the little CRF is fantastic. I would like an MT but they are heavy and may not be as good a compromise is the CRF but to get the CRF useable off road requires a lot of suspension work and a new ecu is almost mandatory making them way more exciting endive than MT which comes with everything.
@lawrieyoutube43752 ай бұрын
@@kevinarmstrong478 Hi, Since my post I bought the MT. You are right, t is a fairly big boned bike and a proper adventurer size. But I have found it quite nifty and with the smaller motor low down is a lot easier to handle than the big bikes as you say. The frame/suspension/wheel configuration is very well mannered. The motor is pretty peppy but still running in so I haven't been able to give it the full beans yet. You are right, it's not a small bike. Sort of a lightweight Tenere I would say. But will handle anything I think. The worst thing so far is a very snatchy throttle at low revs, which makes riding in heavy traffic a bit of a pain having to slip the clutch all the time in 1st and 2nd. The tech and electronics are excellent. Happy riding.

Been to the recent Makina Motoshow 2024 at SMX and have tried saddling both bikes. The new Hima is very Top Heavy compared to the MT450 and I have observed this with others who have tried saddling the bikes as well. Hima is definitely for more experienced adv riders no doubt and right out of the box, would perform better of the two in real life conditions as it feels more sturdy and solidly built.

From the reviews and overviews so far, the Himalayan seems like the better bike for slower speed road work and off road riding. So far re the 450MT I've heard som reviews talking about harsh suspension, poor brake feel, jerky throttle. All things that have been praised on the Himalayan. You do get a lot more for your money with CF Motos. An extra cylinder for one, but more adjustable suspension, folding gear lever, adjustable levers, USBC output, and better dash. So it's a bit 6 of one and half a dozen of another.

I own a Versys x300, with about 90.000 km, i had never done a thorough wash to the rear shock, thing is, the rear shock was getting stuck down low, i thought it was done, i was about to replace it but i wanted to check it out, i asked my nephew for help and we took it apart, the spring was full of dry mud, so i scraped it and washed it with kerosene, we put it back just to stand on the foot pegs and well, the bike did bounce back up as normal after that. After all of this, my point is, the CFMoto 450MT comes with adjustable front and rear suspension, and they're great quality too, KYB suspension is quite a greta suspension, so they're putting expensive parts on this bike, the suspension, the tubeless spoked rims, the switchable ABS with perpetual front ABS, those are features that cost quite a bit of money all together, and this bike is barely about 1.000 USD more expensive than the Versys x300 in my country, in fact, Honda just released the Honda Saharah 300, which is a dressed up XRE 300, single cyl, no windshield, 18/21 rims, for almost 9.000 USD in Costa Rica, the Versys x300 is 8.600 USD, less expensive than a shitty single cyl! And this bike will be just shy off 10.000 USD here too, this is too much bike for the money, and i still feel they should have priced it a bit lower, because their 700cc bikes cost 9.000$ and 10.000$, same as this 450. But again! A good quality, adjustable rear shock is about 800$ or more!

The age of dissing Chinese motorcycles is over. Anyone referring to Chinese manufacture as being inferior does not know much about manufacturing production. China is the heart of world manufacture, that's what they do, so they have all the tech and knowledge and after all lots of European and Japanese companies use them to manufacture their products. I personally buy their machine tools for my business and have used their laser cutting machines for about ten years. Those machines work reliably with little maintenance or servicing. There's nothing at all inferior to Chinese products unless their products are built to a price point in which case don't blame them, blame their Western distributors. I saw this IBEX in a dealership in Greece and the quality looks spot on. If it was a KTM badged bike it would be totally convincing. Its only the older generation that hang on to the cliche of 'Chinese rubbish' . These bikes will sell like hot cakes and the price point will allow a new generation to enjoy the joy of 'offroad' motorcycling. Well done on the professional and thorough bike review.
