To everyone who's asking that "this is so illogical why would they produce the female robots just to throw them away", they are actually being sent down in the basement and being forced to do hard labour and they keep working there until they die of exhaustion. If you notice carefully they are pushing the cogs and they make the whole factory run whereas the male robots were "sent up in a golden armour". So I think it signifies that women in this society are treated badly and exploited even when they have such major roles in running the society and very often don't get the privileges that men get just because they were born in a different body and don't fit the society's "mould".

Secondly i would change the glass wall to have more holes in order to fit the right robot to the right job. Lastly i would make the main character actually fit one of the holes, but not the one that she (or maybe he or it) wants to fit into and the reason that she is discarded is because she tries to go through the wrong hole. She would again end up in the incinerator but in this version there would be other damaged robots that either didn't fit any of the holes or tried to fit in the wrong hole. Together they would break the glass wall like in the original short or combine into giant mech that would break it.

For those that may question this. It is probably the best representation of the late 1800 to the early 1900 England. Between 1500 and early 1800 women could not only join but run guilds. In the 1700 men started treating women very poorly. While English women never had the right to vote before hand, now they were being removed from their earned positions of power. It stayed that way till 1918 when English women fought for and one the right to vote. Yes this was WW1 and when men returned to England many things were changed so both they and 30+ year old women could all vote.

It's a nice-looking animation, but I'm not really on board with the premise. Equality always seems nice, until you realize that the positions that the other group filled wasn't just high profile jobs like teachers and directors, but also sewage workers, soldiers, truck drivers and assembly line workers (robots can't do everything just yet). Considering their armored appeareance, I wouldn't be too surprised if the fem-bots discovered that the others were flying off because they were being used as projectiles. (In which case it doesn't make sense why their makers are throwing away half of the ammunition produced, what a waste!)

One of the less thought out films unless this referred to hundreds of years ago before women broke through that metaphorical wall into equal rights. I may be biased because I live in America where the rights between men and women are equal, but this video was clearly directed at Americans so I don't see the point in this short. The director is supposedly from an Asian country which may explain it, but the rest of the contributors aren't. Overall, if animation like this was available in the late 1800s to early 1900s, this would be a masterpiece, but otherwise, it was wasted animation budget.
@xxangelofhellxx75554 жыл бұрын
In that instance, better to try to see it from the perspective of the director and not the contributors who have a bastardized version of "equality". Everyone has their own perspectives on it's message, no matter how blatant it is. If this film was made in a foreign country where women truly were considered second class citizens (and they do exist, plenty in fact), then let's see it from what the director wanted to tell.
@hellohowareyou97454 жыл бұрын
@@xxangelofhellxx7555 Makes sense, but I feel like it'd certainly be more powerful if 1) this was aired in South Korea (or wherever the director currently lives and 2) the other contributors also lived in an unequal place.
