Hubby and I just completed day 11. We look forward to our workouts now and are really enjoying them and feeling stronger everyday 💪🙌. It's a beautiful feeling getting my strength back little by little after having major emergency surgery in May 28 2023 that took 4 months to recover from. My muscles became week and I was having so much pain in my weak arm muscles and shoulders. Thank you for teaching us these workouts.

As I got to the chair this morning, I was thinking about how long it's been since I woke up eager to move my body. I really appreciate the way you combine things we've done before with new additions. I find that doing the familiar builds confidence for moving to the new. I also appreciate how you mention where we might be feeling the stretch - it's a good check on whether I'm keeping the position properly, and rewarding validation when I am. Dear Carol, A big thank you from Greece. I am a 55 years old overweight woman and a have a " sitting " - job. That I have Arthritis is my right knee also Helps not to be very active. But your lessons are really for everyone. Also that you always mention to do so much as it feels comfortable, is great,so I do not feel as a fool. I really start now to do some exercise. Thanks I think this is really helping my back and core muscles. Could never do sit ups or planks without consequences days afterwards. I can feel this is slowly strengthening things in my upper body.😊❤

I was so looking forward to my session as usual but I’ve woken with an extremely painful top right back 😏 maybe I pulled a muscle yesterday doing my chair yoga or walking my dog 🤷♀️ I’ll take a break today and hope it will be better tomorrow! I’m so disappointed ☹️ I was doing so well and it’s been years since I’ve been this motivated to do any kind of sport. Fingers crossed it goes away quickly 🤞

I've had lower back issues in the past. I had to skip doing Day 11 yesterday because I started to feel my lower back after all the twisting we were doing. I picked up Day 11 today after feeling much better. I assume that I should not be twisting so much so I can keep on going. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying these workouts.

I love these stretches. I have a question though.. when were leaning over standing up, is our back supposed to be straight like a board ?

I'm glad you like the stretches. I'm not exactly sure which poses you are asking about. But if it's during Sun Salutation, when we "swan dive" forward, the back is flat as we dive forward, but then it will round as you come into forward fold. Then as you move into "half-way lift", the back is flat again like a board as you extend your head towards the wall in front of you and your seat towards the wall behind you. Does this answer your question?

I really felt more strain with the left hand side of … name escapes me but seated dropping one knee then extending that leg back (you said common the feel this was easier but it was much harder for me this side)…. I want to work continue toward this but wondering if ok to have legs further in front of chair so toe remains to the front at same level as before I dropped my knee…?

Of course! You need to do what works best for your body. The pose is Crescent Lunge and one generally feels a good stretch on the hip flexor and quadricep of the leg that's extended back. But if that doesn't work well for you, adjust so that you feel a stretch but that it works for your body. You're doing great listening to your body. Way to go and I'll see you tomorrow.
