The VW Polo R Line is possibly the worst car I could have chosen to repair, Sourcing parts for this wrecked VW is an absolute mission. Between eBay sellers and Facebook Marketplace, I have had to shop around endlessly just to find parts in color. Hopefully, we can finally start to rebuild this little pocket rocket, Is it still worth saving?
I Bought A Super Cheap Polo R Line From an Auction (SYNETIQ), Now that I've fixed the suspension on the VW, There seem to be more problems with the engine. The EPC light has now come on while I was test driving and there seems to be even more damage under the front bumper. It looks like this car wasn't a bargain after all. Last time I did a stretch boot I put a bit of CV joint grease on the cone,it was messy but the boot went on no effort.Had a shorter cone as well Good video.

Those stretchy boots are best put in a jug of warm water to allow it to stretch more.

I think a good t cut will sort the skirt scratches and wings. You can use a good vice on the bearing and possibly sandblast the hub just a thought l can understand your frustration with this project good to see 👀 you back 😊

Yeah your probably right on the paint work buddy but the hub was bent that's why I was changing it. The parts for this car have been a complete Nightmare 😆

Turn the boot inside out, place it in boiling water to soften it, lube the cone, then just place the boot over the small diameter end of the cone and leave it there, then position the cone against the cv joint, (use your body to hold it there). Then use your forefinger, index fimger, and thumb of both hands to grip either side of the boot, then pull the boot forward over the cone and cv joint . It will go on with relative ease. :-)
