Chad Warner 3rd best GF since 2010? Petracca must be a plumber. 39 disposals, 2 goals, 9 clearances, 896 metres gained, 2 goal assists. Not even a Melbourne fan but he turned that '21 GF on it's head and kept going 'til the last minute. That is number one by far.

@@roti1700 Yes, but not as good as Trac. Also if Rioli's block on Maynard was called as it should have been, then Sheed would not have kicked that goal and Collingwood would have won that game. Whereas the Bulldogs were up by 20 points early in the 3rd qtr and their elite midfield got rolled over so much that the game became a blowout in Melbourne's favour. Margin kind of tells the tale as to who was more dominant.

I think Brisbane’s finals form is far superior to what Sydney have shown. If they can beat Geelong at the G they can certainly take down Sydney who struggle there in big games. Brisbane for me

Seems Hoyne has conveniently forgotten the "chaos" stat he rolled out from the last few weeks. Over 80% of finals are chaotic. Swans have won 8 out of 9 chaotic games this year, compared to Lions which are tracking at about 50%. Bring on the chaos!

Don't get the chaos ball factor. To me it means either a) team is poor at hitting targets and/or b) pressure brought to bear is too great for the opposition when ball is contested. Both times when the chaotic aspect of the game took Bris, ie no choice but throwing caution to the wind they came back from 44 point deficit and a 25 point deficit. Don't think the "chaos ball" is a worry for Brisbane.

Data doesn't show grit, determination and mindset - the amount of times Patrick Cripps decided to put Carlton on his back and win them the game was immense and exactly why he won it. Most influential player for the season, not the one who had the most kicks or handballs (he came second).

Champion data's Brownlow goes off player rating which is largely influenced by impact, efficiency and scoring (direct scores, assists, score involvements). Cripps deserves his metal, but did he have the most dominant and greatest season we've ever seen, no he didn't.

Grundy hasn't been the same player since he got injured a few years back. This is his best season in 3-4 years but at one point Grundy would average between 20-30 disposals while getting 10 clearances and 10 tackles in games along with 30+ hitouts and a goal or 2 every second week. Was literally calling it triple double games like what they do in basketball. He'll never be able to get to that level again but he is still quality.

I agree. Umpires literally cost teams games and even grand finals (Brisbane last year). AFL needs to introduce a panel of some of the best, most intelligent former players for Brownlow voting. If they're too scared, then have this as a percentage where the panel gets 50% of the vote, coaches get 30%, umps get 10%, and fans get 10%

The current mob of umpires are incapable of providing Brownlow votes accurately because they are having so much difficulty umpiring the game. They have proven themselves incapable of judging distance with any consistency whilst confusing players with inconsistent interpretations costing goals. The AFL should seriously review the 4 umpire performance versus the 2 umpire experience because in my opinion, the inconsistency since the 4 umpires were introduced is killing the game and confounding the fans.

And not one of those selectors watches every single game. Which is why there's always 2 or 3 glaring commissions every year

You're bottom 6 generate the most turnovers, as they are your weakest players. So which is more important the best players, or your bottom 6 not making mistakes.
