Completely agree with the above. Chanel is not what it used to be, neither are a lot of designer brands, in terms of quality. I think this has been exacerbated by the social media times we live in and these high end designers have basically become fast fashion in quality which continuously upping their prices. They’re completely taking advantage of this insane psychological state people are in, largely due to social media, of constantly needing new and “flexing”.

Demand has gotten so high for items that they no longer have the time nor the care to put into their items. I noticed this on several items when I was last at Saks. I would expect those kind of bags at an outlet not shipping out and that said I've gotten absolute beautiful Coach bags at their outlet that were full leather and gorgeous.

@@sail253 I have an original tartan Poppy back before they sent the line to outlet. She is now 15 years old and is a beast. I used to use it as a bag for school so it's even had text books shoved inside. Not one crack in any leather, or zipper issues. Patricia Nash, Lucky, Fossil and Rebecca Minkoff have some of the best leather bags I've ever owned. The leather on my Patricia Nash tote is almost a 1/4 inch thick and built like my Tods leather bag and just keeps looking better with age, the same with the others yet I have Gucci, and Burberry that look far worse. For bags like Chanel, Dior, LV, etc... you are paying for the name, and design not necessarily for higher quality materials like you believe.

The classic flap does actually come in plain flat leather, however they’re INCREDIBLY rare and they usually only get a release every 5 or so years, and they’re VERY limited when they are released! They’re called the Pure Classic Flap and the last release was 2017, so they should be coming up again in the next couple years!😊

Hello Sophie, great video as always. Just a comment. At the classic flap, the pocket behind the flap is not supposed to be used. The flap is fixed only with two stitches on the sides and thesese can break. They hold the whole structure of the bag. So just be careful using the pocket 😉

Great review Sophie, I’ve been thinking about these two products especially the mini vanity but have been putting this off. You definitely need to check out the Dior mini vanity, it started on a really high price and seems to be reduced when chanel released theirs.

I've had the SAME experience when I purchased a lambskin wallet where the stitching was not straight and did not match the other side. When I returned it the sales associate said "all of these items are handmade so you should expect slight imperfections" - *eye roll*. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had this experience.

I have seen perfectly straight stitching on fast fashion bags from Winners or Marshall’s. The stitching on Coach bags that I have is flawless. Considering Chanel prices, this low quality of workmanship should never have left the factory. So disappointing! Another great video. You look fabulous!

Sophie I am on my second WoC from 21S. It’s going back again for peeling. Out of 3 I’ve seen all were scuffed on the corners from their warehouse. I`ve seen much more perfect handmade dupes and certainly a lot cheaper. KZbin has videos that show people making handbags like Chanel´s, by hand and with incredible perfection. But there it is, there is no logo.... We pay the logo!
