You actually want to keep game bar enabled because It's not just used for recording. It's actually also used for giving your game optimal latency and performance. You need to make sure Xbox game bar remembers your game as a game, so windows can automatically change its scheduler and power plan and also kick in Windows game mode to benefit your game's performance/latency.

That's actually kinda misleading, since gamebar's "performance optimizations" are just v-sync and game mode. Whereas it by itself uses far more resources, completely overshadowing any improvement it may have made. Hence its much better to disable it.
